That was a screamer of a catch from Vettori to get rid of Haddin. He was looking dangerous. The others dismissals are all 'what the hell' moments for sure. Watson picks out a bloke on the biggest boundary who doesn't move an inch, Ponting decides to slog on his fourth ball in, and Clarke thinks he's playing at Wimbledon and forgets to bat properly.

Crazy stuff. This is a 300-350 ground.

Aussies looking to break a 5 game losing streak in ODI's on NZ soil.
I'd say they are a chance of avoiding making it a half dozen game losing streak too, but they need to learn from past mistakes. Firstly, they need to become a more ruthless side; when the foot is on the oppositions throat, don't let it off. Secondly, they need the confidence to bowl Nathan Hauritz for 10 overs against the Kiwi's. He hardly bowled in Napier and if you pick a guy, you should back him to succeed rather than go in with the pre-concieved notion that the NZ batsmen will smash the living daylights out of him. Lastly, the captain needs to take charge and lead from the front; if a fifty or century is in the offing, then really nail it home. That'll give the troops the belief that they can compete with the Kiwi's.
