It has been a typical AUS vs NZ battle so far in this series. Black caps grow another leg against us and really make the series awesome to watch.

the NZ commentators are dead set dunces

they were wanking on earlier how outside of these series Aus had won 13 in a row against them. they couldn't figure out why these C-H series had been close

the answer is that most times Aus have rested their top players as it occurs after a long summer of cricket over here

That has been the case in 1 out of the 6 C-H series (06/07).

04/05, 05/06, 07/08 all happened early in the season.

This year and last year it's been played later in the season, but NZ have generally had more unavailabilities than Aus have.

Wrong Dunce. The only time AUS has ever rested any players from a C H series was 2007, an they only rested Punter an gilly, An the team was hadly understrength The team still had,McGrath,Johnson,Tait,Bracken,Watson,White,Hodge,Hussey,Hayden,Haddin, an use got destroyed. They haven't rested any players since that ass wooping, The reason why NZ has been crap outside the C H series against AUS is because NZ have had to field an under strength team Due to mass injuries which always seem to hammer us in the big tournaments, we always lose our star players at the same time. But AUS is sweet if they lose anyone they just bring in someone else who is just as good an kicks ass anyway.

he never let's the facts get in the way of his jingoistic rantings...

Like Vetorri I have to wonder whether a 5 over reduction is only worth 8 runs, plus the shortening of two power plays.... generally I don't have a problem with the Duckworth Lewis system... but that seemed a little harsh... in saying that, we should have batted better and won comfortably.

Selectors (including Vetorri) need to look at themselves - while Hopkins is a useful player, he's no replacement for our best bat, and this pig-headed refusal (excuse the pun) to not let Styris bat higher is a joke!

Shame they didn't give Williamson a game against the Bangers - he's the one, clearly - but not sure I'd debut a kid against the Aussies - but I think he's the real deal

It's impossible to work DL out but it is understandable.

If a team makes 250 in 50 overs and the team batting second gets reduced to 20 overs... it's not like the score required will be 100 as that is far too easy, it would be something like 140-150 in 20 overs.

Yeah, that adjustment was a bit... wierd. I mean, I get there's obviously less risk of being bowled out in 45 overs compared to 50 overs and there has to be a natural adjustment for that, but next to no runs for 5 overs, 2 of those power play overs was nuts. It should have 15-20.

the one before the WC we had a few rested as has happened most years

Which is the one Manu already noted. I can't remember many other series that Australia has rested players for the Chappell-Hadlee series.
