Jesus no wonder New Zealand cricket struggles. You get this joke of a series as your only one during summer, then the Proteas turn up but juuuust late enough so everyone is back into Super Rugby??

When was the last time you actually had a real summer over there?

It's ridiculous the ICC allows this to happen.

totally agree although to be a glass half full person its better than nothing

I'd reckon that would be the ICCs attitude as well

This is a rather interesting point, from the cricnfo comments:

"It's hard to see what this innings is achieving, as Zimbabwe meander through to drinks four down. So far they remind of Bangladesh shutting up shop on big chases and instead aiming to bat 50 overs, finishing miles behind in the process."

Yet more interesting cricinfo comments:

"Justin: "It can be frustrating seeing zim just ticking along with such a big run chase on the board... however in reality they never had a chance of chasing down this total, and I personally don't see any issue with them making the most of having time out in the middle... and try limit being on the receiving end of even more records!" See your point, but the issue is that this breeds a defensive mindset. They need to be playing to win, otherwise what's the point?"

Gives the fans at the ground a chance for a few more beers I suppose...

I've been to a few ODI's here in the late 90s eary 00s when we were ultra dominant that were over before they switched the lights on. You feel cheated out of 3 or 4 hours of cricket on those days.

Agreed, while I will always support NZ, as a cricket fan games where it is so one-sided and teams don't even show some form of a fight, I feel just takes away watching sport because its obvious what will happen.
