Run chase died the moment Tamim left
Pretty sorry effort, they're better than this

Full credit to India, another ruthless show

India favourites now, I reckon - Aust 2, RSA/NZ about equal

locky you're a moron... nobody has ever chased 300 there, it will happen one day, but it was not likely last night, and I doubt it will happen in this World Cup

Although the Bangers are out I think they have had a good tournament and they seem to be on the improve, congrats to them

India seem to be also improving form the team that we wiped the floor with this summer.

Getting to the pointy end now.

Looks like the Indian supporters snapped up the remaining tickets of the 2nd SF at the SCG, which is now sold-out.

They really let the Indians get away. 3-115 after 27 overs it was wide open for them to rip through the middle order and put some real pressure on Rohit and the tailenders.

Hard to believe India is the only team this tournament that has managed to bowl out the opposition in every match they've played, especially with the bowling attack they have. I always believed before the start of this tournament that India has the batsmen to win the World Cup, but not the bowlers.

The tactic is pretty simple: get at least 300 batting first (especially on a flat pitch), then it's pretty much all over if you can take at least 3 early wickets bowling. There's just way too much pressure to chase down a total in that case, as the run-rate slows up. As the required run-rate of the team batting second starts getting close to 10 runs/over, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion.

Their attack is pretty good actually, Shami and Yadav are decent ODI bowlers, Shami's a bit like Starc shit with a red ball and pretty good with the white one.

Their batting is easily the strongest lineup in the WC, nobody else has that consistency from 1-6...

Assuming Aust beats the Pakis, that's a huge semi-final, this is not the Indian team towelled previously, and they have been imo the most convincing team at the WC, and whoever wins that semi is a strong favourite for the final (that being said, I think whoever bats first at the MCG is a strong favourite in the final)

Don't think India have gone that far ahead yet.
All four of those teams are on par imo, any one of them can win it.

Not far ahead, they are just doing everything well...

That being said, whoever wins the toss and bats first at the MCG will be hard to beat

It's been basically sold out all week. I've been checking regularly. They'll say single seats are available for the most expensive sections, then they're snapped up. Occasionally something comes up on ticket resale but that's been going quickly. Tickets have gone pretty quickly once it was apparent that Aus and NZ couldn't meet in the semi final

I baulked at $275/$195 but managed to grab one of the $140 ones last night, in the victor trumper concourse. Pretty good spot behind the bowlers arm, sidescreen means you lose a bit of the view of the field to the left but i may be in my 40's next time a WC is here, thought i'd better go along.
