Clarkey gets a 50 and a well earned one at that.. The future of Australian cricket is in good hands with Clarkey.

Teams are getting too gutless these days, the Australian team of a couple of years ago would never have even thought about the draw at the start of the innings, the target was extremely gettable, this pitch isnt a minefield, its the flattest in world cricket

One word. Ponting.

Gayle ran out of ideas, you could tell when he gave Barath the ball and was playing around with the referral that he knew he couldn't win.

yeah I thought it a bit baffling

2 quick wickets next over and game seriously on

I would have played another 2 overs at the very least

Australia could have won that easily if they had a captain who had a cricket brain, instead they were going for the draw really from the 1st wicket
The windies were gone halfway through today, the only thing what saved them was Australia has a captain with no cricket brain

The windies were never going to bowl Australia out,

Pffft.

I've been as critical of Ponting as anyone but Australia was never, ever going to be able to chase down 330 in less than a day.

Anyone that believes otherwise is a f**king hack.

he's partly to blame for Australia's having to chase down 330

I think gayle was caught by surprise by the quick surrender of the Australians, they were never chasing it.

Gayle knew his bowling were gone , after day 3 effort and was expecting the australians to offer more then they did

Ponting needs to go as captain along wiht the selectors

And with the players in the side the target was achievable.

No it was not. The pitch was a road, but it had slowed down and was a bit two paced. 330 was never achievable on that deck. If it was 250-300 we would have had a go at it.

It was acheivable the pitch was not as bad, as the defensive australian made it out to be , wiht the field placing gayle had, the australian could have easily kept a run rate of 3.5 to 4.0 most of the day til tea time, but instead the australian went into a crawl nearly after lunch
going at 2 run rate,

After losing five wickets, would you rather we have gone all out for the victory, or stick into the draw?

If Australia was going for the target and losing wickets then people would understand if they shut up shop and went for the draw, but Australia was playing for the draw after losing 2 wickets , that doesnt make sense

At tea time Australia were only 4 wickets down under 200 runs to win the run rate required wasnt over 6 ,they could have lifted the tempo if they lost a wicket or 2 then play the defensive play, not straight after tea Australia only scored 3-4 runs in 40 minutes of play
