2nd Test: England v India at Lord's Jul 17-21, 2014

While some praise must go to India for fighting back criticism must also go to England.
You don't have a side 7 down for 140 odd and let them get nearly 300. England should have kept the foot on the throat and bowled out India for 200 max.
England are kidding themselves if they think they can nurse Prior along for another 12 months for the ashes. Apart from one innings against Sri Lanka helped along being dropped. Prior has struggled with the bat. His form with gloves has been worse. 2 drop catches today and 17 byes let through is not the standard of test keeper.

How do you let get the kings of flat track bullies get to nearly 300 on that deck???? Especially when you have them 7 for 140??? The Poms of the mid 90's have returned.

England's bowling was shocking. Not attacking the stumps or going for the LBW anywhere near enough. India could leave it alone all day and get their eyes in.

But Cooks captaincy was the worst. At one point Anderson had the second new ball bowling at Boovie Kumar and he had 7 men on the boundary. Just such a terrible tactician.

Tactically he is one of the worst skippers i have ever seen. And i go back to the mid 80's. And the stupid merkin had the hide to whinge when he copped some criticism, Vaughan was spot on when he said instead of complaining about Warne he should have been trying to pick his brains.

He must be very, very relieved that Bell can't buy a run at the moment because it leaves them short on options.

India should take note - Boovie Kumar is a damn good quick bowler if the wicket isn't a sandpit.

Awkward missile comment.

And agree re Kumar. A very good bowler and looks like he has his head screwed on right too.

What ever happened to the other India quick Yadav? He seemed ok aswell

In Australia with their A team. Quick but inaccurate.

Poms 6/219 (behind 76)

Poms tail will get to 330-350, possibly close to 400. They will be in the box seat and pressure india

I can see india crumbing 2nd dig

A poms victory very likely (Cook getting a half ton in their 2nd dig)

Kohli and Cook were two guys that people were hailing as the next Tendulkar.
Both are good players, but its refreshing to see some reality checks.

I would not back England to win, or survive, if they're chasing 275-300.

Only two totals larger than this have ever been chased at Lords.
