I can see Tendulkar coming in with India 1/900.

West Indies attack about as scary as Bass Hill retirement village over 90s XI.

I'm probably in the minority on here but I would like to see Sachin make a big score and go out on top, he's been a top player over his career and done a lot for the game of cricket and batting in general.

From the hour or so I watched today, I can can confidently state that this is the wankfest to end all wankfests.

I don't think a minute went by where Tendulkar wasn't mentioned.

From the hour or so I watched today, I can can confidently state that this is the wankfest to end all wankfests.

I don't think a minute went by where Tendulkar wasn't mentioned.

Try telling that to the member here called Rod who, in response to my comment, said in the 1st test thread that the Star Sports coverage wasn't over the top in the last test regarding the spruiking of Tendulkar's farewell (even though it was plastered at most opportunities, via commentary, twitter comments, "Sachin Facts" on the screen etc.), and that Tendulkar was entitled to it after having played 199 tests.

This test has taken that to a whole new level and thrown his hogwash completely out into the ocean. Even when greats like Lara, Warne, Waugh, McGrath retired, it was nowhere near nauseating and over the top as it has been with Tendulkar this test. Everything from constant camera shots of his family members individually, to the constant wanking on about Tendulkar in commentary, and all this useless trivia about what he did on his 16th birthday...really, who cares! It was a complete joke. I laugh at Laxman whatever his name is....when the West Indian misfielded a simple forward foot push from Tendulkar and went for 4 runs, and Laxman creamed his pants saying it was a lovely shot and one of the best you will ever see. You're not telling me he isn't being paid by the word? Such a shame to see cricket telecasts being hijacked by such inane commentary.

And yet, at the same time, we have a player from the other team playing his 150th test, having averaged 70 over the last 6 years during a stage of his career where most batsmen that age would be lucky to average more than half that amount.... and he barely got any mention. It's not every day that people get to play a test match, let alone becoming only the 7th player in test match history and the 1st ever West Indian to get to 150 tests.

And I was right about another prediction from the last test - the commentators were going to mention about how great and loud the crowd at Mumbai is.... when was the last time India got crowds like that for home test matches? Many, many years ago! And you can thank T20 cricket in large part for that. Long gone are the days such as those when the first 3 days of the 2nd test between India/Australia at Eden Gardens in 2001 sold out.

Tendulkar's records for number of tests played and runs scored will probably never be beaten. Even if someone manages a career spanning 24 years like Tendulkar, they'll be lucky to play 2/3 the number of tests. Poor old Chanderpaul, now that he's purely a test batsman, gets about six matches a year leaving him plenty of time to idle away in the Busta Rhymes Cup and the US street cricket league. At the current rate it will take him 8+ years to get from 150 tests to 200 tests. Given the dearth of talent coming through and Shiv's unrivalled staying power, he might just make it. Go Shiv!

Yeah, it is a shame. Jacques Kallis first came to mind as a contender as he's the 2nd highest capped test player going around (164 tests), but then I remembered he is 38 years old and will probably bow out after the 2015 World Cup. Tendulkar would've ended up playing more tests had he played for England, who've traditionally always played a lot of test matches in a calendar year because there's always been a heavy emphasis on test cricket, as shown with their long county season. Before the ICC tour roster was implemented, the sub-continent teams played a lot of ODIs but very few tests. Since Tendulkar made his debut, India only played 2 tests in 1991, 3 tests in 1995 and 5 tests in 1998. Back in the 70s, 80s and 90s, Australia/England/West Indies monopolised the cricket schedule and the bulk of the test matches. Remember the days when Australia vs West Indies used to be 5 test series? It will never happen again

The best chance of the record being broken is from England, who have always played a large quota of test matches a year.

This is painful. Biggest wankfest ever by commentators who have obviously been told to wank on.

I hope for Tendulker's sake that he gets his ton, he has been a legend of the game but I hope for the BCCIs sake he fails. Huge setup playing a minnow like the attack of the Windies, would have loved to see them play Pakistan.

Imagine the celebration.

Warne is commentating there as well, very very subdued compared to normal.

The BCCI are probably regretting not having a 3-4 test series vs Pakistan or South Africa. In a way they did the rest of the cricketing world a favour, only 2 tests vs WI both games most likely will end in 3 days. This is the maximum wankfest the rest of us could have only dreamed about so not too shabby really

I don't know whats worse the West Indies or the sickening over the top commentary????

They must be forgetting that he has played 2 years to long and this has been a laughable trumped up series against terrible opposition. What were the Banga's busy???

Is this India v West Indies or Sachin's final tug?

The BCCI/Indian cricket f**king suck. How is the pitch looking? Complete road?

Had a couple of skim reads of cricinfo's online commentary after training yesterday and the commentary isn't much better.

Can't stand BCCI. India should be taking on South Africa next month but that got canned because the Indian hierachy doesn't want Sachin to face a decent bowling attack
