Pakistan have had more bad decisions in this match, but regardless of that, for an international umpire to miss that is very very worrying.

Not a shocker given the bat hit the pad about the same time. But yea looked out live and that deviation of the ball backs it up.

He could've whacked his pad off his leg and it wouldn't of made it any less a shocker, for a ball to deviate like that without hitting anything is physically impossible. A deaf person could've told that was out.

The umpires have been absolutely dreadful in this game, and some of the decisions haven't even been close to correct.

There's clearly some issues with the Hotspot technology, as we've seen with that decision, and the 2 English nicks during the Ashes that the hotspot didnt pick up (Bell's last one was the most obvious).

And apparently some numbnuts Pakis are arguing on cricinfo that hotspot is infallible, and if it didnt show anything there then he didnt hit it. Massive deviation...

Hot spot is absolute rubbish there were multiple decisions in the Ashes that you could see with the eye and hear with snicko and yet it picked up nothing it shouldn't be used at all. It looks good though

This is gripping stuff... watching to see if Daniel Vettori will spin the ball. Hell, yesterday Mohammad Hafeez ripped it like Shane Warne out of the footmarks, but Vettori continues with left arm straight. No surprise that he has not won a test match in the fourth innings for New Zealand against a non Zimbabwe-Bangladesh outfit in 14 years.

The time of judging him as a test bowler IMO is coming to an end. He needs to start getting very serious with the batting and either become a genuine top 6 bat and find a bowler who genuinely wants to try and turn the ball. Vettori is too ODI/T20 oriented as a bowler. I'd pick Nathan Hauritz as a test spin bowler over Vettori.

Vettori is massively over rated as a test bowler. Always has been. He's at his best when the batsmen are attacking him in ODI and T20 matches.

The scary thing is that Vettori may give away ODI matches after the WC and will instead continue to play test cricket exclusively with some T20 on the side.

Imagine that, continuing to play the one form you're least effective in, and why? Because he wants 400 wickets and 5000 runs against his name.

Vettori has been brilliant. Some of the best left-arm slow medium bowling I have ever seen. Where would our test side be without this superb medium pacer we have.

agree 100%...

i wouldn't drop him straight away... but we need to seriously consider him as an all rounder...

we need to have a look at some new genuine spinners who can actually turn the ball... and i dont mean Patel or McCullum... they bowl the same rubbish.

Pakistan obviously had their money on the draw this time :p. Only needed 66 runs off 10 overs with 6 wickets in hand but didn't have a go.
