I dont actually still think this wicket is that bad.

Hopefully we can somehow get them out and then get our lead up to 400-450.

Would be nice to be able to say we could get the last two and then quickly pile on 300 to set them 500
, but I dont see it happening

Anything over 400 will be nigh on impossible. That's why if I was Pointing I'd bat again. Especially now Australia only needs another 11 wickets to win the Test and series.

Johnson deserved the criticism he received over the summer.

Against the Saffers he had a great game in Perth but failed miserably from then on. That's fact.

As it turns out he is bowling superbly now and showing far more consistency.

Both those statements are absolute rubbish.

I've been critical of Johnson's bowling in the past but if he keeps up the current form, he'll go down as one of the best bowlers we've had. His batting is just a bonus and I think the confidence he's gotten from that has helped him relax with his bowling.

His best ball before this tour was his cutter and the bouncer was good but no where near as good as it is now. Other than that he did get quite a few lucky wickets. But I've said all along that once he gets the ball swinging he will become world class and that looks to be spot on.

It's amazing howlucky you get when you bowl 150km/hr left handed though isn't it.

How many bloke in history have done it?

It's hard to think of many more than Akram and Johnson TBH. I remember the SAFA's had a bloke I think called Brett Schulz who continously broke down of Allan Donald's vintage.

Bruce Reid wasn't quite that pace. Not sure about Allan Davidson either, understandd he was more fast medium.

Obviously with the inswing he is bowling at a different level, but his ability to sustain top pace in long spells, ability to hurry batsman, intimidate with the short ball, and draw the false shot with the angle have been there all summer.

Id probably bat again unless we get the 2 wickets in the first 5 overs and the conditions are extremely overcast. Although the pitch should get worse (all be it stranger things have happened), and our bowlers will be better for a days rest (or 2 sessions if we bat like we have been).

I think 400 would win us the game, but I wouldnt bet my house on it.

If you buy into the high tide theory you would aim to be bowling into and on the tide wouldn't you?

With the Aussie bowlers carrying a few niggles they may need the break.

We normally prefer to bat again.Their batsmen may be a bit vulnerable at the moment though.

Akram is king of the lefties. Johnson climbing the ladder but has a fair way to go to get to Wasim. But I'm racking my brain trying to find anyone else remotely of this ilk.

Johnsons bowling very well but I wont go nuts as these are very good bowling conditions to move the ball. But in saying that, even though conditions are on his side he is still bowling very well and better than anyone on either side.

However It was only a month ago he couldnt move it at all. Im not 100% hes just developed it like that or if the conditions are somewhat helping him. Its
