That was very close, and a good decision from Clarke to go upstairs.

Lyon has impressed me not only this series but the Sri Lankan series.

They seriously need to change this review system.

The umpire should give his opinion on the 3 x areas they check:

1) Was it hitting the stumps
2) Was it pitching in line
3) Did the batsman hit it

That way when a umpire believes it pitched in line and was hitting the stumps but gives not out because he believes the batsman hit the ball, we don't have to go on this "umpires decision" bullshit.

:edit: just as I type this the commentary team are talking about the same thing. Hopefully it happens

I thought it was plumb LBW in fast motion because it happened just after I posted about Clarke taking the new ball and I was like "lol i am going to look geniused"

Hawkeye is full of shit lol
It is. On more than one occasion i've seen it show something completely different to reality. I remember last summer a spinner was bowling and on the replay you could see it sharpely turned, Hawkeye reckons it was dead straight

BS technology. I reckon when it comes to reviewing LBW the third umpire should just take a look at a slow motion replay and hotspot. If it's borderline, go with the umps call. If it's a shocker of a decision, overrule it. Simple.

I remember one where Hawkeye ruled the ball was quite clearly spinning in the wrong direction it was. Could be the one you are talking about but I remember it being more recent than last summer.

Pup let things slide a bit too long there. Bringing on Hussey was so pointless and cost us valuable runs.

Johnson has been given the new ball and a chance to clean up the tail and save his test career.

Instead, Philander and Steyn - renknown batsmen they are - are taking him for runs at their leisure.

Clarke has gotten defensive rather quickly....bit of a worry because that was Pontings biggest flaw.

The Siddle and Johnson bowling combo looks to have claimed another victim in Cummins. Already asked too much of Harris, Watson and now Cummins.

Not sure why Clarke didnt put himself on with the old ball, probably would have been the most effective with the tail as proven in the 1st dig. Oh well, still plenty of time to win this game IF we skittle them after lunch, then bat out of our skins, if their tail can bat, then surely there is 300 runs in our top 6?

Cummins looks spent. I guess that's what happens when your strike bowler is an 18 year old kid in his 4th first class match.

Can't see us chasing this. We'll have one decent partnership somewhere, but then collapse again.
