“At the moment the grass is 8mm high,” he said. “I asked what he’s going to do with that.

“He said he’s going to speak to their captain and coach before I make a decision,” Clarke said. “That’s the groundsman’s plans. So I’m interested to see what the South African captain and coach’s plans are for this wicket. So I’ll be interested to see if that stays that way. Hopefully it does.”

Saffas have sent some of their fans out to try to help keep the test series close.

I'm seriously chortling. There will be absolute carnage in this test.

And if we bowl first, hoping to see that 47 scoreline again for the Saffas.

I won't gloat just yet either as Steyn, Philander and Morkel could still rip us a new one.

But either way...carnage.

If seriously that green, I'd even think of playing Pattinson and saying 'son, just let it fking rip!'.

I think South Africa are gonna put all their energy and mental application on Johnsons bowling, that Harris and Siddle are gonna clean up big time

As Warnie says..."if it seams, it spins". Lyon plays.

the ball wont grip the green stuff, it only grips the stems and exposed roots

if they dont make any changes it wont grip, this is not a standard green top

I'd be playing Patto if they dont make any changes to it

And if it goes to the 4th innings? Who is the spinner? Smith?

way to change the subject, you were talking about the pitch

if it stays like it is, 4th innings could be day 3 or 4 so I dont see a problem

PE is a low seamer, this pitch should suit the seam bowlers to a tee, good chance for Harris and Siddle to strut their stuff, looks like the Saffa's are bowling their wads over Mr Slave as well. I'm having a bit on Harris for MOTM.

This will be a good test. Some of the aussie media are getting very cocky tbh. Not saying that South Africa will win, but what I will say is that they are made of a lot more sterner stuff that the poms and they'll be hurting from the last test.

I can see it being 1-1, then a blockbuster in the 3rd

Im pretty sure that's how its gonna go. Proteas will hit back and put us back to the depths of despair

Nothing surer

4th innings will finish just after lunch on Day 2.

Not only would I drop Lyon, I'd be flying Starc and/or Cummins over.

If we bat first, we just name 'em and hope they show up on time like Saturday arvo 6th Grade does.
