Lol Khawaja.

Plays a few good innings in that T20 shit and mugs like Mark Waugh were trying to tell us all that he was batting as well as Brian Lara ever did :D

This is real cricket. A tough contest in foreign conditions and isn't he repsonding well? The same conditions against Murali and Vaas where Lara scored a double hundred and two hundreds and 700 runs in a 3 test series.

FFS I just wish plods would stop overrating players based on that hit and giggle shit.

Khawaja plays spin with concrete boots. Looks very ugly. Just seems to hang his bat out and hope for the best.

All world class but none of them all-time greats like Steve Waugh, Allan Border, Ricky Ponting or Matthew Hayden.
You were going well to you added Hayden, only started scoring runs when a lot of the great bowlers retired and the pitches flattened out. He was a very good test opener but hardly an all time great.

I did think twice over Hayden as he certainly had flat track tendencies. In fact on a pitch with no seam or swing you'd pick him as an opener in an all time XI.

What swayed me was his stunning 2001 series in India. Perhaps I'm giving that one series far too much weight. But he was absolutely awesome against Harbhajan when all else floundered for the most part.

It's rare for an Aussie batsman to play spin so well. Maybe that's why he stands out. He'd be the best Aussie batsman vs spin I've seen except for Boof Lehmann.

Katich played spin very well.

I think it was his weird stance. His feet were moving before the ball was released.

The batting really does seem o be dominate be aggressive or cluster f**k

Really quite funny, Warner at run a ball again, doesnt matter what sort of shot gets him out its the flail away attitude

They really are the pin up boys for flat track bullies

Have you seen Zampa's FC stats? It ain't pretty reading.

Nowhere near ready.

We don't have a test quality spinner after Lyon. SOK is handy but that's about it.

Swepson is potentially a much better leggie anyway. Zampa is better in the short forms.

lol

you talk about stats then you say SOK is just handy, check his FC stats against the Goat you goose

I dont give a f**k about Zampa's stats, he is a better bowler than Holland and I dont need stats to tell me that

He's handy he is a decent 2nd spinner. None of the leggies are near ready. Can we not wreck their careers by paying them before they are ready. Zampa isn't nearly ready. He barely played FC cricket last year!

Darren Lehmann says Australia’s performance ‘not up to international standard’

AUSTRALIA’S coach Darren Lehmann has accused his side of “not showing up” in the heat of battle after Friday’s record-low score against Sri Lanka.

Lehmann says skipper Steve Smith’s side was given an excellent preparation including two warm-up games in Colombo but out in the middle it has been a different story.

Australia lost last week’s first Test in Kandy by 106 runs in just Sri Lanka’s second win ever against Australia and now in Galle the home side is poised to claim the three-match series.

Smith’s men will resume on 3-25 chasing 413 to win and keep the series alive.

“It’s disappointing, the way we played. Not up to international standard, on that performance today,” Lehmann said.

“We’ve made some poor decisions against some good bowling.

“We’ve got to be better than that if you want to succeed in these conditions. We certainly haven’t been up to standard so far.

“I can’t complain about the preparation from the lads and the work ethic.

“It gets down to the pressure in the middle of a Test match and being able to cope with it. At the moment we haven’t.

“Certainly some blokes have got to have a look at themselves, how they want to go about it in these conditions.

AUS first innings wickets

“We’ve talked a good game in the media and in the press, how we want to play, but we’re certainly not showing up at the moment.”

Australia has lost seven Tests in a row in Asia against India (2013), Pakistan (2014) and Sri Lanka, with an eighth loss likely today.

“The results would say we haven’t moved on,” Lehmann said.

“We’ve got to get better. We’ve got to stop the rot.”

Australia’s bowlers were also in Lehmann’s sights, after spinners Nathan Lyon and Jon Holland took 2-80 and 1-69 respectively in Sri Lanka’s second innings of 237.

“Nathan Lyon’s experience has been very good for us over a period of time but his record in the subcontinent is not great,” Lehmann said.

“He has to improve. Holland is playing his first game so he’s going to be a little bit nervous so give him a little bit of lee-way there.”

Lyon has always been an absolute plodder.

Wheneverthe conditions have suited him he's never risen to the occasion.

Worst ever Aussie bowler to rack up 200 wickets.
