I listened only bits and pieces on radio as had other things going. But what struck me about commentary was only ever heard trindall, tracy, Katoa,metcalf ,Kennedy,moylan,Ramian, Mulitalo, and Brailey mentioned . Couple of times said they were running through the middle . Must have been strange game . Maybe Quigs can do A WASHUP ? fORWARDS MUST HAVE BEEN THERE . I saw woods strolling up to take a look at what was going on when tigs scored in the highlights on NRL site so,I know he was there. Probably more a comment on commentary than on the game as the commentaters carry on with rubbish till the flashy bits happen.

BHU was the only forward to run over 100m in a 50-20 score tells u it wasn’t in the forwards where we won it.

Could also indicate they didn't have to. Not factoring in Brailey as a hooker or Magoo as a 3-minute player the forwards average was 10.55 metres a run. That's actually good numbers. In comparison, our back 5 averaged 12+ metres per run. This wasn't because Sharks forwards were lazy, just an indication of a clear game plan to run the Tigers around and use the backs more.

Parramatta last night, using similar criteria (they didn't have a 3 minute player but hooker omitted) averaged 10.03 metres in the forwards but the back 5 only managed 9.92 metres per run on average.

Using the backs as the draft horses can be a recipe for success in some games as all the good team's metre eaters come from the back 5 in most games. Keeps the forwards fresher.

There will of course be games where the team has to go down main street all game and that's when metres will go up.

Mind you the Tigers are not a good barometer as they weren't even there yesterday.

That's where the game was won. On the back of the platform they gave the halves to play ball. Doesn't matter where the platform comes from as long as it's built so in this aspect I agree with you R-15-3. The backs, specifically the back 5 won the game
