3- Harris
2- Murdoch-Masila
1- RTS

HM- Fonua-Blake, Ah Mau, Egan

Minus- CHT, Nikorima- poor game management. terrible options at times and conspicuously absent at others. The difference between the 2 teams tonight was Pearce. We didn't have a half.

Taunoa-Brown was pretty disappointing too

3 Harris - just what we expect.
2 Bunty - should have been on earlier
1 CHT - for his defensive game. A lot of work needs to go into his attacking game though.

Minuses- Nikorima - I came on here to say the same thing as you, Meth.. We had no playmaker, no inventiveness and a terrible, boring kicking game. Also JTB - pretty ineffectual.

Reckon you’ve gone easy on Fusitua too. So much of what he does, especially defensively, is still so half-arsed. Been the case his whole career imo

Turning point was that bomb that they let bounce. We end up making only 30 metres that set, our half kicks off the back foot and Knights start the next set at our halfway line.

Up until that point we were looking pretty good.

Roger and Ken have played more than enough first grade to not let that happen in the back end of a game.

Can't give RTS points, dropped bomb cost us, couple of indecision at back, didn't help Fus early on when taken over sideline, just dropped back and watched. Not his normal standard.

Attack looks ineffective most of the time.
Halves need to step up and please someone start following AFB

3 - Pompey
2- BMM
1- Hiku

forwards generally good. Lots of work from Fus and Ken but some lapses. Halves need to step up more on attack

Fair enough but it was a pretty outstanding bomb

In saying that, I edited this morning. I gave RTS the points before the Knights hit back to win. At the time, RTS had a mixed bag, but with two crucial try assists to win the game. That’s what you expect a class half to do, but we don’t have one

anyone know why Pompey took that conversion? Kodi had just nailed one in the same spot pretty much a few minutes earlier. I couldnt figure that out unless there had been an injury. I cant give Pompey any points... or anyone else in the backline. He kicked out on the full at the beginning of the game, couldnt do the 10m short kickoff at the end, missed the conversion and his passing to Maumalo was ragged. The backline as a whole looked like it was the first practice together, (apart from the Maumalo try which was all RTS) so i dont know what Brown has been doing all preseason. The much vaunted Hiku/Fusitua pairing is a myth at the moment.

Maumalo, Fusitua and RTS should be spending half of next week communicating about bombtaking, as that aspect of the game pretty much cost us the 2 points.

Sironen seemed to get a lot less minutes this game it seemed and wasnt anywhere as impressive as game 1. Not sure if he was completely over the headknock in game 1.

Jazz is just a f**kknuckle. This is why I dont want him in the 17.
Bring back Murchie and Sironen can do Jazz's role going forward.

3. Bunty. Way too few minutes.
2. Egan
1. Harris

Hiku is defending way better but he can't get his winger away. The ball keeps going back the other way.
Kodi looks lost at times and missing at others. We need a class half.
Jazz should be causing trouble in reggies. He is ot of his depth.

3. Harris - I feel partly guilty for not giving him a point last week.
2. Murdoch - came on with purpose, and it got us good momentum at an important time.
1. Egan - a good find for us.

As said in the game-day thread, we're missing Mt Smart and that hometown buzz. We're heading home soon, surely?

Very disappointing, did so well to dominate in the second half and take the lead and then completely blew it really. Plenty of good signs though, and a few issues...
