3 - Matulino
2 - Mateo
1 - Johnson

For the conditions I thought the ball handling was really quite good, well done forwards in particular. Our kicking was okay hence Johnsons point, Penriths wasn't, in fact their plays on the last were diabolical. Oh yeah, and Locke chimed in nicely and was busy in so many aspects. Defense was a mixed bag forwards good, halves and backs generally so-so, they still need to up it against better teams.

Suprised at Maloney getting points. Thought he was terrible. But i guess scoring a try and kicking the ball dead repeatedly will make up for that. :?

Welcome to my life

Does anyone else cringe whenever Maloney sets for a long kick? He telegraphs it so badly it always looks like it's about to be charged down (never mind that the fullback/winger also know exactly where it's gonna go)

Matulino, Matulino, Matulino - What more needs to be said? The man is a one man forward pack. He's up there with Gallen, Watmough at his best, Price, Webcke and the like. Maybe better in time.

3 Matulino 2 Mateo 1 Locke. Hon mention to Johnson's kicking game. Hurrell for his awareness, attitude and awesome kicking game that he has revealed recently. He's more than a wrecking power beast.

Very happy to get the 2 pts and with Luck back things should shape up for some good defence that has been lacking. We are animals on attack always confident we can score when we are in the opposition 20. Sharks will be a good test for the boys.

Yes and no, I find it's a double edged sword with Maloney. He is the same with passing a lot of the time, he's not a catch and execute player he's a catch, calibrate and execute player.
I definitely get the heart in mouth cringe a lot with his kicks being potentially charged down but I find the ones he does deliberate so much on seem to be the well executed kicks that sit up in goal or find good space between the opposition back three, as opposed to them knowing exactly where it'll go.
Same with his passes, when he rushes it they often float just behind the best point of catching but when he has set himself and knows what he's going to do he can throw a gorgeous cut out pass.

Maloney is a beautifully balanced kicker, which is exactly thanks to his free backlift and follow-through. He certainly can rush his kicks with good results if needed, but usually there's no point doing it. It's not about him telegraphing the kicks, everybody in the comp knows when to expect a long kick to come. It's just about taking a split second longer for a longer distance and better control.

Everyone's entitled to your opinion?

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

AliN is entitled to her opinion that Maloney was the best player on the park on Monday night. That's why I didn't say 'woman can't vote'.

I am entitled to my opinion that her opinion is mental and that she has clearly caught her husband's head disease.
