SJ's only real fault was finding Moylan on the full all the time, but that is not even close to the reasons why we lost. He didn't deserve points but he was generally fine.

Hey team. Long time reader but I have finally decided to post. Did anyone else notice how badly SJ defended yesterday? His defensive reads were really hard to understand?

Yeo's first try and SJ bounces out even though they were ok for numbers defensively. Yeo's 2ND try was just a simple play that every NRL team do including the warriors. He woydl have defended that at training 100 times. Waqa Blakes try he just let Yeo get on his outside as easy as anything and just a simple offload. Maybe its Thompson just not working hard enough from the inside but gee it just stood out massively to me.

I think defence is too big a part of SJ game, he is supposed to be a playmaker, not number 1 line defender..

I'd be more inclined to blame Thompson, he's been good for at least one shocking one on one miss every game he's played. Needs to be dropped as soon as we can cover him.

His kicking game was poor. A good half would have put the ball into touch at the end of sets to give the forwards a chance to regather.

What was the plan with bringing Nathaniel Roache on at the end? Was Luke injured or something? Roache isn't bad, but far out, he's on a hiding to nothing as a young fulla when the team is bleeding out.
. Re our bench, have Gubb and Vete sunk so far down they can't get a bench spot ahead of either Lisone or Afoa? Probably not a popular call, but I don't mind Thompson normally, but he's not a centre's *sshole. Is he really the only option we have when Kata was injured?

SJ was average, but the repeat sets and allowing them to march 60+ metres every set wasn't him.

What I'd like to know is why Foran stops taking kicks in the second half?

Gubb hasn't sunk. He was never any good.

Well this is where Maumalo on the bench actually makes a bit of sense.

As a bench forward he could come on and bash a bunch of metres, and if someone in the backline goes down he works ok as a worst case scenario winger

Yeah, I thought about that. CNK and Fusitua played well...but you could definitely mount an argument for the need for a Vatuvei or Maumalo type player more effectively bashing our way out of our 20.
