Simon Mannering's hands were horrible tonight

he's allowed 1 bad night, probably wont see the dropsies from him again this season.

he made up for it with his defence..

Yeah all is forgiven, but I'm starting to wonder if he's the right man for captain.
Then again there are no other candidates.

 based on? 3 FG coaches and our international coach seem to rate his captaincy skills, along with the majority of our FG squad who play under him.

He's definitely a very good player but he doesn't have the same aura like Price, Wiki or Stacey or Campion and Cleary during their playing days had in previous years. He's a lead by example type of player but he doesn't strike me as the sort who can really rally his troops when the chips are down, the sort to spur them on and get them home instead of blowing all those leads we had last year.

Its similar to the Taylor vs McCullum debate, likeable and humble vs upfront and commanding, there are pros and cons either way but with this losing streak they should rethink this one.

But like I said there isn't really anyone other than perhaps Nathan Friend can fill those boots. Lowrie is probably too new. Mateo? Too erratic as a player for mine, his bad days are just awful.

I did not watch the game, so limited value comments. But the overwhelming comments I got from people who did, was that "it wasn't a bad effort."

But I can't help thinking that we still lost against Easts who were owned big time by Souths the week before and who were pretty much crap the season before that. And they were playing at the Warriors home ground.

Me, I think we might be fighting in out with Easts and Canberra for the least popular trophy in the NRL.

Whoever thought that Cleary should have gone must be eating their words now.

You're forgetting about the Dragons, and making overly simplified predictions based on two rounds. If I was to do the same I actually think the Roosters will be a fringe top 8 side, they have a pretty solid side outside of their average halves pairing.

Yep with better halves the Roosters could carve up. We're lucky they were rusty and didn't attack our right side, a true top 8 side would have belted us by 20+ on Saturday.
