The majority of our players (especially, Johnson, Maloney, Manu, Tupou and the Fish) did a lot of good and a bit of bad, a real mixed bag performance where the bad ultimately meant a loss.

What's your point? We had 5 props sharing the load and they had 2 doing the lion's share of the work, of course the numbers would look like that.

Um yeah but

Woods 72 mins
Galloway 60 mins

Packer 37 mins
Rapira 34 mins
Lilyman 43 mins
Matulino 46 mins

Go forward wasn't exactly a problem, and sure Galloway and Woods made a few easy metres at times but once again, wasn't really a problem.

BTW- Ryan is well and truly under his skin. Ryan's try (off Manu's error) put Manu out for the count. You have to hand it to Ryan, the sledger.

Manu showed some serious anger at Beau. There was one instance when Ryan was held by two of our guys and Manu hit him from the side with a big shoulder, Ryan stayed down for a while. And other occasions he looked like he wanted to start a fight with Beau.

I really want to see Matulino play 60 minutes a game. I think he's fit enough. Guess it's hard when we have such a good prop rotation, but still.

Manu makes one error and everyone wants to hang him again??? I thought (apart from the obvious) he had a solid game with some great runs. Or am I forgetting something?

one error?

1. fumbles a grubber kick, from which they score
2. drops a high bomb leading to a attacking scrum from which they score
3. fails to tackle Utai 1:1 in the corner from which they score

cause & effect at critical points of the game,

if i made those errors back at school playing 1st XV, deadset I'd be dropped to the bench.

was good watching him literally try and snap Moltzen and Beau Ryan in half though.... :D

Definitely. After the game when the players were shaking hands you could see Beau tried to stop and talk to Manu and Manu didn't seem too interested. Then Beau got interviewed by Freddy and he was basically sucking up to Manu- he described his try off Manu's error as "lucky" tried to shift focus to how Manu beat him for the Henry try, and said something like "that's what happens when you go up against the best like Manu Vatuvei".

It seems like Beau has said/done something in the past to annoy Manu, and either he realizes he did something wrong or he's worried about Manu smashing him, so he's backpedalling frantically.

Carry over from last year. Ryan niggled him and Manu was more riled than I've ever seen him. Even shaped up to Ryan from memory and Ryan ran a mile. Ryan would have tried it on again and hit a still-raw nerve. Worked though.

Whats the world coming to ... I actually agree with you. You could also draw a bow and say that the other try was off the back of error one, because we didn't touch the ball between then and Tuqiri's try. It was the biggest momentum changer of the year, just docile play. Complete lack of professionalism.

Anyhow...

3 Hurrell - 2 tries, a try assist, he's the best young outside back in the game
2 Mannering - worked tirelessly as per usual
1 Maloney - a bit crazy, but the others weren't much chop... IIRC he had 2 or 3 try assists out there. Pity about the missed tackle on Lolzen though.

One of those games where the rub of the green just didn't go our way. We played consistently better and smarter footy, their mistakes went unpunished, and ours resulted in opposition tries. Some of the piggy back penalties they got were complete nonsense too.

All this talk of sacking Manu is a bit silly, yes he made a couple of dumb errors but Loltzen also made plenty at the back. It was Manu's bad luck that they resulted in tries.

Fish looked hungrier this time but again was caught out in no mans land far too often.

1) Hurrell- I think that last try was maloneys fault but hurrell prob should of shutdown too, otherwise outstanding
2) topou- surprised he hasn't had much of a mention. Wouldn't mind seeing his stats
3) Taylor- typical performance
