Don't want to be a SJ hater but I hope he doesn't get any points. There were sets of six when we were on the attack where he only touched the ball once in the whole set, and there was one set there where he didn't touch it at all. Is there another halfback in the game that has such a little involvement at times? The whole team really needs to step up, because that second half (besides the last 5 minutes) was one of our worst halves I've ever seen from us. Really disappointing.

Probably because Johnson just passes to an inside runner or to nobody. He doesn't want to get anywhere near the opposition. If Cappy is consistent SJ should be in NSW cup.

Funny though Golden Boot make some heavy contact on defence that tackle on James was great, but with the ball he's mud

I felt Shaun made quite a lot of punishing tackles, carted the ball a few times without fear but didn't make any play. Time to get radical and either play him in reserve grade or move him to fullback for a while

Completely agree. The letting Chad run the show experiment has mostly failed. Sure he's had some good moment's, but we're wasting a potentially very talented player by relegating him to second fiddle.

However, none of that matters much if our defense is as miserable as it was today. You can't win when you give up that many soft points.

Johnson needs to start running at the opposition line with venom (speed/acceleration) more often. When he does it, he makes defenders crap themselves... when he doesn't it's usually just the lazy hand off that produces nothing.

Agree entirely. Can't imagine Bellamy creating a structure or allowing his dummy halves to continually play away from Cronk. It seems to me they're hell bent on getting the ball to Manu's side, and I wonder whether SJ is on the other side to create some threat there. It just doesn't work with Tomkins not there.... its time for SJ to be freed. He looks extremely frustrated out there.

Negatives for the dumb mong plays...

Manu two dropped balls early, one which directly cost us a try...
RFM deciding to defend behind Fusitua on his own line and leaving a yawning gap for Moseley to go through...
Thompson rushing up and in and leaving space for James to offload to Eljey to go over
Lolohea not getting to that bomb was bad enough, but for the rest of them to be jogging on like merkins was deplorable
Thompson playing tag you're it on James Roberts to make a bust and set up a try
Le Chad for perhaps the worst cross field chip of all time that nearly allowed Mead to go the length of the field (epic tackle from Lolohea and fair play to Le Chad, he was chasing back hard)
Johnno Wright getting caught out for Don's try where he started moving in field on an out pass was...well, interesting defence

Seriously, Cappy's got every right to drop nearly all of them. I'd also suggest Cappy himself needs his head read for the way the team is directing its play away from SJ. Its akin to Wayne Bennett getting his team to play to Shane Perry and not Darren Lockyer.

Wright's mistake was understandable, not great but you can forgive that I think - great pass and even the attack was deceived

Biggest thing for me is the minutes TL is getting. He is mud and stifles our attack from the first pass. Not only on attack but getting out of our half his pass is often mistimed t the forwards.
