Got a whinge about the Raiders try and the interference to Barba.
I agree the Raiders winger was always going to score like the guy from the bunker said BUT if Ben was impeded (which he may of been)he might've got into a position to stop the raiders winger improving the try scoring position.
He may not of but I don't know that was ever considered.
Not worth its own thread but had me wondering.

Capewell.

All the Forwards

Tell you what, besides a monster game from the forwards, Feki got us out of some shit at the back. He had a great game also.

I agree, I hate when video refs say it had no impact. Everything has an impact.

The referring in general is a blight on the game at the moment, the refs appear confused and lost.

While its a valid point you make, its never been a part of the ajudication process.

It was a grubby act but in the end i had no issue with the decision at the time.

What if Barba got injured in the act? You can bet it would of been penalised then. Whether he would of caught him or not is a ridiculous summation from the officials. The act by BJ was illegal. Full stop.

It's now fair game to knock supporting players out of the way AFAIC

At the very least he could have made the conversion more difficult

If Barba had've been injured you could bet your bottom dollar Sharks would've got a penalty.

If Chad's try wasn't disallowed his head space would probably have been a lot better.

1. Prior
2. Fifita
3. The whole squad for getting it done

Really liked what I saw of Kurt Capewell great hands for a big bloke too.

On the incident involving Barba. IMO , that ruling needs to be brought out into the air. if that is in fact the ruling, the fabric of the game has changed. There is no grey area or interpretation to be made. its an illegal play & must be penalised.
So as it stands now, this is the rule & this is waht Craig Bellamy will instruct his players to do. If they make a break, everybody grab anybody & knock them down. If they are more than 10m away, they have no bearing on the play.
The NRL is now the New NFL, complete with blockers.

It's the same as every other aspect of the game. The refs have caused the problem, they need to make calls and blow penalties.

In their pursuit of allowing the game to "flow" there are several indiscretions every set of 6 which they let go. The one that bothers me the most is when they tell a player they were given a chance the first time, but this time it's a penalty. It's either a penalty both times or not at all.

Offside, not square at marker, not playing the ball on the mark, forward passes, those playing the ball interfering with the markers, players holding on too long, particularly when their defensive line isn't set. It isn't the refs job to decide on the extent of impact, While grey areas will always exist in the ruck, illegal plays must be penalised.

BJ was clearly looking at and obstructing Barba and should have been penalised regardless of the impact.

This afternoons game threw up another beauty for this weekend, in what must go down as the worst referring display in league history.
Moylan gets dragged towards touchline then ref calls held, so morris stop & moylan actually puts hiw own arm over the line & gets the penalty.
Are these cats in the NRL bunker & referee system crazy?

All went hard! Heighno good. Jimmy Maloney calling the shots. Feki smashing it up out of dummy half and getting us out of our own end like he usually does. We were more mentally strong than Canberra and that's what won it.
