Hard again this week for exactly the opposite reasons from last week.
All the team deserved points.

However, for me, the gamebreakers were:

3. Maloney Superb.
2. Mateo Finally got some support
1. Inu Finally got some support from Cleary.

3. Maloney
2. Manu - his best game of the year - see what happens when he runs hard and starts our sets. Tupounext and then Brown get on the back of quick play the balls and we have awesome field position.
1. Matulino - seriously ripped in

3: Maloney; hit the line well, 3 great line breaks, kicking game on fire (only missing a 40/20)
2: Inu; cut through the defence to create opportunities, could anyone else have score that try?
1: Matulino; stood up again, 130m.

Hon Men, Lillyman, Brown, Mateo, Locke and Johnson.

Enjoyed Rapiras kick off returns as well.

Kicking game supurb from Maloney and Johnson.

Locke, great vision for Maloney's try, a thinking man to take it low to get out of ingoal. Gave his all on defensive line when it should of been a much bigger forward there!

The list could go on.

Refs negative 1000!
3 out of 4 calls in first half bullshit, but what pisses me off more is the double standards!
Micheal Luck pinged in ruck when covered up, Farah in ruck locks his leg on dummy half (Heremaia I think) and NOTHING!
2 Ballstrips plane drops, thank god for a bit of justice at the end of it all!
Refs need to be dropped, plane and simple, Video ref needs to be promoted he has the Gfinal all to himself! Brave man, brave call!

Oh and the 13min penalty against Packer, followed by the wink from the ref!
Mate the camera is on you, dont give away the gold watches the tigers have promised you at the end of the game!

So hard. Having watched the game a few times, I'm still struggling which of our 3 boys to put up there. Will take the weekend to decide. I will say, Bull Lillyman, Feleti Mateo, James Maloney, Kris Inu, Manu Vatuvei, Kevin Locke - wow. And, fmd - if Mannering played for any Sydney club, he would be spoken of as the best second rower in the world. Lewis was outstanding... geez... Still so euphoric.

What got me annoyed the most, was a 20 metre tap where we got called back...ref calls all The Tigers back onside, we take the tap again and they are all still 4-5 metres in front of the ref in plain view.

Still-

3.Matulino
2.Maloney
1.Inu

Your comment on Mannering is so so right. The only back rower i'd even think about swapping him for would be Gallen, but i'd still stick with Mannering. A magnificent player, and rightly crowned our player of the year!

Yeah I'd definitely take Gallen over Mannering.

But Simon had a great game last night as far as his actual performance went. I do feel he needs to establish better relationships with the officials as they appear to dislike talking to him and show the guy little respect. Maybe it's just the Kiwi thing...

I'm sure it directly relates to the badge on his jersey - put a pussycat on it, and they would be trying to pash him.

Name me one captain that the refs actually like explaining a decision to.
The refs are protected species and completely unaccountable.

Thurston, otherwise he will pack up his toys and go home

Not actually knocking Mannering as such, but I do believe most if not all other captains get a better audience with referees. He seriously seems to just get ignored and shunned - the conversations never last long or lead to SFA.

So tough...

3- Maloney
2- Manu
1- Matulino

A good case could be put in for either Inu or Mateo- both had undeniable hands in the win. But Mateo's laziness in defense and Inu's decision making in defense, while being ultimately compensated for, has me putting them as honorable mentions.

Was so disappointed with Rapira's first half stint. I wish he'd rip in the way that he did in the second half every week. I am most concerned about our defense around the ruck next week- Rapira, Packer and Heremaia need to smarten up.

By all means do - but it's how I recall it. I also remember Price being voted biggest whinger by his peers. Anyway - Mannering is a legend.
