Geez... still so difficult. But:

3. Maloney
2. Locke
1. Manu

Our backline did the job. Lillyman and Matulino were huge. Simon was a monster. Proud.

I reckon this win had the same feel about it to that 2008 storm win. I was on my feet pacing around the lounge when I realised there was a chance they could award the Inu try waiting for the video ref decision. My 10 year old was standing on the lounge hardly moving (lucky his mother had gone to bed or she would have gone off).

I went to bed so pumped that I could barely sleep.

I did not expect to win and wasn't excited before. I had a mood of having to watch it and get through the result and prepare for next year.

My biggest fears were our centres. But other than that first bad read by Inu and Brown failing to push up early on, they got their game together and were excellent.

Watching those forwards and Manu crash up into the Tigers forwards like men possessed was a spectacle.

Then the classic Sts v Broncos match. Almost scripted wasn't it?

Compare that to that OZ v Ireland match. I cheer for Ireland but it seemed there was a penalty or a ref playing advantage every 30 seconds. No line breaks at all, no fluid backline movements. Result aside, it was dour and found it difficult to enjoy.

I cannot wait for next week now. Even though the warriors are underdogs, they have a chance. More chance than I gave them this week.

Inu was awesome. If he gets dropped for the Storm game I'm seriously moving to Alaska.

Coincidentally I've just come back from there. Awesome place.

3 Manu Vatuvei - got the team rolling forward
2 Lewis Brown - exceptional at following up Vatuvei's hit ups
1 James Maloney - very good backing up all night

HM: Mannering and Luck covered a lot of ground last night to make a lot of important tackles, Inu for the obvious plus two other line breaks, Locke has a touch of class as always, Johnson's pass to Mateo was out of this world, Matulino exceptional off the bench and IMO the bloke who started to turn it around for us, and Billy Tupou also did some good work taking it out from our own end.

Our back 3, along with Lewis and Krisnan, really set us up. Is it weird to say that they set the platform for the forwards, to then set the platform for the backs? Blah. When our back 3 fire, we win.

I'm jealous! Seen Into the Wild? Fantastic film.

How far north did you go? I've only been as far north as Tok, and down to Anchorage, Seeward, etc. Would've loved to go up to Fairbanks, but we were on a tight schedule, so weren't able to. Did drive through the Yukon though (twice) on that trip.
