We can blame whoever we like, but at the end of the day how we will we fix it??? And relyIng on Hayne to get us home every game isn't going to do it. Is Stuart the man to do
It?? Gee I hope so, but he was the best available and with by the looks a very good support staff they have a chance. All these people whinging about sacking the board is their any other alternative??

How about a football CEO with a proven track record at running successfull sporting organisations?

Maybe even try poaching a good one from another club that's won something in the last decade?

I wish I could agree with all the angst against the board, they have turned the cluib around, made funds available to the football club which is their main priority

Hired a sought after coach , who turned out to be a dud, then made a decsision to get the SOO coach when that didnt work

Their major issue, or someones is the administration at the football office, and a real issue with detail, cost cutting appeared to do nothing but cause problems.

Hopefully the search for a football CEO corrects this, I spoke to someone no longer at the club at the game last night and he said to be careful what you wish for, the agenda behind the scenes is still being driven by DF with the help of Raaay as the vocal point, and a couple of club employees who feed info and disinformation

I am more interested in the discipline etc that the new coach brings, and we need to get behind the club more than ever

By the way, those leaving the club and were on the field last night, did little to thionk they will be missed

The issue I have Delboy, is that they seem to care more about the finances then they do about the football side of things. I couldn't care less about a fancy new escalator in the Leagues Club, I want to see our footy side winning games yet that doesn't seem to be the first priority for out current board.

I heard the fella from TAB last night say that based on the retirement of Hindy and the poor recruitment for 2013 (compared to other cellar dwellars like Penrith), Parra will be the shortest price favs for the wooden spoon in NRL punting history.

is there a way we can bet on parra not getting the spoon? might be some good odds there

cleary must get on his knees every night and thank god for kearney because if we didnt get the spoon the panthers would have

lets not forget despite penriths recruitment they are still losing gordon and lewis

The LC was a mess and did need fixing - so credit to the board for making that happen.

What we need though, is a mixture of football and business experience leading the club forward.

Spagnolo however, should fall on his sword for overseeing this horrible period, let alone his disastrous appointments of Osborne and Kearney.

I remember round 3 well. A board member was asked what would happen to Kearney if we got the spoon and he arrogantly replied "we won't get the spoon."

Yep, he should have said he couldn't guarantee our future in 5 years. That would have sorted it. What an arrogant bastard.

That too. Either way you don't get a scapegoat.

They sure make a complicated world easier to cope with, so I understand the appeal.

Well Hindy's gone now and he was the leader of the losers, right ?

Hold on, that makes Hindy your scapegoat. Yes it is a complicated world. :sarcasm:

The interior of the club has moved from the 1980s to 2012, having said that , certainly our mood is reflected by the success of the team on the field

At the end of the day , if they had not fixed the financial side of the club, guess what, we wouldnt be here in 5 years, remind me who said that?

Selling off your assets and cutting all the experienced staff is a great way to make the funds available to the football club, unless you want to keep football experience.

I am sure Mitt Romney and his mates at Bain Capital would approve of that process, it is venture capitalism 101.

Hired a sought after coach , who turned out to be a dud, then made a decsision to get the SOO coach when that didnt work

Sorry Del, he was a dud from the start. He had never coached an entire campaign, and that set the alarm bells off for me and was the major part of the reason I was upset with losing DA, the replacement was not up to scratch, I gave him time but he failed to deliver.

Their major issue, or someones is the administration at the football office, and a real issue with detail, cost cutting appeared to do nothing but cause problems.

That is the problem. because that is where all the cost savings have come from, retrenching long serving staff with football knowledge and replacing them with amateurs.

Hopefully the search for a football CEO corrects this, I spoke to someone no longer at the club at the game last night and he said to be careful what you wish for, the agenda behind the scenes is still being driven by DF with the help of Raaay as the vocal point, and a couple of club employees who feed info and disinformation

Please stop with the Dennis is coming to get us routine. Please. It has been four years. He didn't run for the board last time and he isn't stupid enough to run this time, and if he is the "puppet master" and gets put back on the as CEO if a new group are sitting around the board table. Get 30 blokes together, ask for an XGM and put his appointment to the entire membership.

I said it back in 2009 to Fisheel and JessEel one morning as we walked down Town Hall station, the specture of Denis Fitzgerald will long hover over this club, as apparently will Hagan and DA. We need to act out of knowledge instead of react out of fear.

I am more interested in the discipline etc that the new coach brings, and we need to get behind the club more than ever

Thier times was up, sure. But they weren't helped by the supposed future of this club either.

We will see what sticky brings.

Denis had his day and needed to go but 3P are poor when it comes to football related issues.

Again, this is a self-defeating argument. Primarily because the board has paid out $1million in the last 3 years to get rid of under-performing coaches.

To say you don't like what they are doing in that regard would mean you prefer to keep underperforming coaches and poor results.

Let's face the facts, the job of the board is NOT to coach or recruit a football team. Their job is to demand results from the footballing staff. The footballing staff ought to be producing the on-field results. If they aren't, then it's the job of the board to sack them and bring in others who can get results.

If it was an exact science, then no club would ever have a bad year. Unfortunately it's a little bit tougher than simple desire. But I do NOT want the board meddling in the week to week coaching of the team. I DO want them giving us financial stability and throwing lots of ca$h at the footy team. This is what they seem to be doing. I fail to see the big problem in that regard...

Mits, I was saying nothing about DF coming back, just the fact is that he continues to stir big time, and uses his friend in the media to constantly criticise the club.

From what I know, that is ongoing

People critising the club, will continue at all levels until we are successful on the field. That is always the best way to shut your critics up.

I agree. I'm glad they got rid of that useless fool Kearney and wished they did it a lot earlier. But finally sacking him doesn't excuse the fact they made the wrong decision by hiring him in the first place. It doesn't excuse the fact they got rid of DA prematurely. It doesn't excusei the fact they hired and let a buddies like Osborbe rub the show with a free range. And it doesn't excuse the fact that when they're supposed to offer themselves accountable to members they get the players to front up as scapegoats and let them take the blame.
