And so they should have, a man with 30 years exp you can count on doesnt say things like and not expect to be taken to task. He's the Derryn Hinch of the NRL.
I believe we will be a force in 3 years on the field and stronger financially in 5 years.
You think they've gone into this to bring the club down?
AND what do you base those beliefs on. What do YOU know that Denis didn't when he made the statement. or are you operating on a wing and a prayer? With the World in a recession and a bees nut off being a depression, how can
anyone GUARANTEE what will be the situation in 5 years!!!
Pull the blankets up over your head, the big bad bogey man (economy) will go away.
The Leagues Club is the FOotball Clubs golden egg..but wait there's more. All these sponsors are going to come on board. The ones that Fitzy and the past Board members couldn't deliver...wink wink nudge nudge say no more.....Join the throng "Crucify him, Crucify him"..You don't know what you've got until its gone.
When a bloke like Michael Cronin comes out in the Press and supports Fitzy, I take notice.
He is not involved emotionally as Pricey or Bert or even Terry, so I don't think he has any axe to grind in relation to the Football Club. Ray Price has made getting rid of Denis Fitzgerald a personal target. If he achieves that, what will he turn his attention to then.
Running a football Club in 2009, is a lot different to when Ray played. In the 80s there was loyalty..and both he and Bert showed plenty to the Eels. Now the loyalty of players is to the dollar. Players don't hang around like Bert, Ray Guru Sterlo Zip Zip....now they focus on what goes into the skyrocket because they are hawked around to every Club here and in the ESL, to Rugby Union here and overseas, to boxing, ice hockey, marbles NFL by the managers. The managers are the blokes who are making the quid.
I certainly don't think Fitzy is anything like Derryn Hinch. He is a man who is not frightened to put his view forward. Give me someone who tells it like it is anyday, rather than someone who sugar coats issues. They are the people I would like to be in a trench with.
AND No I don't think they have gone into it to bring the Club down.I admire them for having a go. But I hope they have gone into it with eyes wide open, and not as a personal vendetta to 'get Fitzy'. You can't teach the experience Denis has in the position. You can only get it.
Such massive changes and not a real lot of experience in Club management.
Now they have control of the China Shop, hope they don't act like bulls in it.
I am the opposite to you. I FEAR for the future direction of the Eels if Denis Fitzgerald leaves the post of CEO.
