Bad news 🥺

Ashes live updates: England team confined to hotel after positive COVID test ahead of day two of Boxing Day Test

On the plus side (from the same article)

"We've also heard that a member of the Channel 7 broadcast team has tested positive too, so their whole commentary team has been replaced for today also."

But get vaccinated and we return to normality.

BREAKING: England team given the all clear

Good news. The players have passed their lateral flow tests and are on their way to the MCG as we speak. Some members of the England coaching group are setting up some warm up drills and cones, so it looks like everything is going to be okay. For now.

I think there were a few players hoping they were positive just so they didn't have to continue the nightmare.

Watson, Hughes, Katich, Ponting, Hussey, Clarke, Smith, Haddin, Johnson, Siddle, Harris, Hilfenhaus

That is not a squad that should be copping a belting by an innings three times from the soap dodgers
Katich was removed from the side after Adelaide with a Test average of 45 and well over 50 as opener. It seems there was friction in the camp.

Basically we could not get England out in that series.

Found it poor captaincy Root didnt give leach an over last night.

You should always give your spinner an over before stumps if you are going to be out there for at least an hour which england were.

Yeah Australia in 2010/11 were not in a good space off field.
England did have their peak side too.

Warney will push for the rest of the series to be played in Melbourne.

He knows nothing about the COVID scare though.

Ponting was finally exposed for the bog average captain he really was.
Correct.
To be fair, like South Africa now, the 2006/07 side had lost:

Langer
Hayden
Martyn
Gilchrist
Symonds
Gillespie
Lee
Warne
McGrath

only Punter, Pup and Huss remained.

Bollinger, Hilfy, Siddle were honest but none great.
Johnson off the boil.
Hauritz, Doherty, Beer…
Only Harris was awesome but dogged by injury in his career.

Who in here, truly thinks Boland will ever play another test?
Honestly, he shouldn’t have played this one.
Good on him getting a test cap, a dream come true, and I’ll never get one myself but this is a poor selection and a publicity stunt from CA.

I don't think his indigenous background had anything to do with his selection, more CA thinking he is just next in line. And if that's the case... yikes, the cupboard is a bit bare.
