Someone posted it earlier in the thread, and i saw it on the broadcast, but it seems pretty clear the batsmen told Head he thought he'd hit at as Head walked past him.

Only reason this is some controversy is cause the third umpire called for snicko and Taufel explained why he shouldn't have bothered.

The Indian captain admitted that he thought he'd hit it, so essentially they are arguing that the game would have been better served if the wrong decision was made. And for a second time in the one innings for the same batsmen.

Indian cricket team would have to be the worst sportsmen around. Should have called their bluff back with monkeygate.

Hotspot technology is not used in cricket for a number of reasons, including:
  • Cost: Hotspot can be expensive for broadcasters, costing around $10,000 per day.

  • Military technology: Hotspot is a military technology, which some say is a reason why it's not used.

  • Inaccuracy: Some say Hotspot is inaccurate.

  • Lack of cameras: There may not be enough cameras to use Hotspot for an entire tournament.

  • Consistency: Organizers may choose not to use Hotspot for consistency.

  • Confusion: Faint edges on the bat can sometimes be missed by Hotspot, which can create confusion.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) does not include Hotspot in their Decision Review System (DRS) calls for tournaments. Individual boards and broadcasters can decide to use Hotspot in bilateral series.

Really...it's been used previously by other all other nations when out here playing previously, snicko imho is more suspect than hotspot. It is just that India doesn't like it so it's not used in the decision making equation this series. India feel they are always the victims regardless of the truth of the matter. ICC is weak, they continually bow to the Indian Boards wishes due to financial reasons, you only have to look at the lenient punishment handed to Virat from this test match says volumes about them.

As soon as they start f**king with the test format, cricket will die. I come from from a family of die-hard cricket fans and none of them are interested in T20s. I imagine that data can be extrapolated. The networks and CA talk the big bash up endlessly but, in reality, it’s mostly as boring as batshit.

test cricket is a true test of skill which is why so many countries struggle at it. T20s are just a bunch of sloggers closing their eyes and swinging on roads.
Poor man's baseball

One T20 rule I would like to see adopted across the board is a free hit after a no ball.

I get that some people see it as a gimmick but tbh, why should you get an extra legitimate ball after bowling and illegal one? It's super hard to react in time to take a free shot at the no ball itself, so the free hit makes sense for mine but it doesnt reduce the fatigue cost with bowling a lot of no balls either

Don't mind that idea

Doesn't really change the fabric of test cricket, adds a positive to the game
