Too bad Starc wasn't there from the start, would have had a better idea of where hes at. Now we are left to wonder after this spell, same with Doherty.

Haddin out C+Bowled Fernando top edging a pull shot
Again he proved me right.

sh*t footwork, he never got himself in place to play that pull shot.

To be honest, he should never have even tried a pull shot on that ball. it was too short, too wide of off stump and too fast.

You're chasing less than 120 runs on a batsmens pitch, why even bother with that shot?

It's stupid decisions like that, poor footwork like that and patehtic execution like that which is why I reckon Haddin should lose his spot in the team.

works for Sehwag

be interesting to see what happens with selection now, Doherty was our most expensive bowler yesterday, just shows you cant judge anyone on one good spell

Doherty and Sarc didn't look to be world class, even against a pathetic Sri lankan batting performance.

I don't see any reason for them to be playing for Australia again unless they do a sh*tload of work on their consistency.

Still don't understand the love affair with McKay either.

Sehwag is ten times better than Haddin.

He does move his feet more than Haddin though. Haddin's left foot is an anchor, that bastard isn't going anywhere.

Look at how he got out last night. Woeful. He made a complete dogs breakfast out of that ball. It was the type of delivery you bowl at a tail ender because you know they'll have a swing at it.

yeh true but I'm not talking about ability, rather technique

Haddin's footwork isn't as bad as Sehwags generally, maybe he was just being a bit lazy last night.

Starc isn't world class. As has been noted, when at full strength NSW would use Starc at 1st change in their second 11. He is the best left arm quick named Mitchell in the country though.

Lets look at the 2 Mitchells

we have two types

one is tall and has a high action whereas the other uses a round short arm action

one gets the ball seam up and gets good movement, the other bowls with a scrambled seam and randomly hits or misses the seam

one gets good swing and the other doesn't get any

one has good control and the other lacks alot of control

which type should we be looking at to represent us in the ashes ?

I agree with neither...

but with Johnson, you're in a NZ type situation because you simply don't have depth anymore... he's selected pretty much on the basis of one summer a little while back, and the notion that he'll won you a test at some stage

Bollinger, Hilfenhaus, Harris.

this

they would be the first 3 that I would pick assuming Harris is 100% match fit which he is not

he is back playing first class cricket but wont be match fit before the first test imo then again we got a whole bunch of 4 dayers coming up this weekend so could give us a better idea of where he's at

Bollinger Hilfy and Harris are by far our best three quicks in this country. We'll push the poms all the way with those three and a decent batting line up
