And as I pointed out, that's a fine attitude before the 38th-40th over...but surely after that you attack the bowling? Especially with 5 wickets in hand and Johnson and Hauritz to come...

I agree with you that they should have gone harder at the ball from that point and before hussy went out it looked like they were gearing up to do just that. I would have faith in Johnson to do an ok job but the 3 following him well we saw how today ended up.

You do realize they are different forms of the game right? and can not be used as a way of saying they will perform in the other version.

Maybe we should bring Warner into the Test side despite never playing a first class game becuase he scored a bag in a T20 and a ODI.

Who needs to see him actually play a game that goes more than 50 overs as I am sure it will all be the same in the end and he will adapt easily enough.

Yet with all that talent and ability he has managed get a high score of 27 in 25 innings in a ODI game.

Really transferable.

Yup....stats always tell the whole story, don't they. Tell me, how many of those innings have lasted more than, oh I don't know, 12 deliveries? And how many have seen him come in with more than 5 overs to go?

Who said Warner for the test side??? Talk about drawing a long bow. Steady Eddie poked fun at Jonhsons batting and laughed at least he got more than average. As anyone knows batting down the order in Odi's lower order batsman never get the chance to show what they can really do.

Baz pointed out how good Jonhson can bat and said he has 6 FC 50's to prove it and youse had a cry over he can't use FC stats totally overlooking his 2 test 50's. If Johson didn't have to go the tonk straight away because of the slow batting of Hopes and Hussey he could have easily scored runs for us down the order.........

Oh I am not allowed to say outlandish things to prove my point.

I was just pointing out that one form of the game does not mean anything in another in an extream case to get people to look at how they do not compare to one another.
