True but all the talk is of Ferguson being next in line for a test cap and how much everyone is raving about him. I think Ferguson should be put in at 6 in the test matches and piss Hussey off now.

I agree with that 100% But Hussey is one of Ponting's pets......

Whats the bet when Ponting comes back into the side Hopes or Ferguson will get dropped

One or the other will be dropped. White is clearly in their future plans and so far has done alright with the bat so I won't complain if they keep him this time. Would prefer Ferguson over Hopes.

I wouldnt put Ferguson in test cricket just yet, what has he done other than a handfull of ODI games?
Id be getting Hughes in the test side pronto, Sunshine to 6, Hussey out

Fair call although Pup had done about the same as Ferguson when he got picked. Hughes will be in the team at some point but I'd like to see him fix up his technique a touch to the shorter ball.

yeah I agree, but Fergy would be next in line

it may only be ODI games but he has been pretty impressive, he's not a big hitter like White, he's a worker and I reckon he'll be a good test batsman just looking at him

Ferguson will definitely be the next youngster promoted to the Test side. Depending on how Hughes goes, Ferguson could be the one to replace Hussey.

Well going on form Watson will break down soon enough and I imagine Hughes will come straight in for him.

Watson not bowling and not going on to a big score in any of his digs has prolonged his career :sarcasm:

Agreed, Ferguson should replace Hussey in the Test side regardless of how Phil Hughes goes. I back Phil Hughes to re-claim his spot at the top of the Australian order sooner rather then later

Phil Hughes's next assignment will be trying to win the Champions League for NSW

I'd like to see Hughes given a crack at the ODI level to get his confidence back for test matches.

It's getting boring listening to you bag Kallis all the time.

I agree, Kallis is solid quality. Best in the business. Anyway AM, got tired of the Heagarty thread did you?

When Ponting comes back, hopefully they just rotate the three of Ponting, Clarke and Hussey through 2 spots in the team.

Hopefully they rotate Clarke and Ponting through 2 spots. :sarcasm:

Gee these later games are no good, still over 2hrs to go

Just had a look at the ICC Champions trophy, we play the WI first up on Sept 26, They would field basically their 2nd string side? Could get ugly as Bangers put the cleaners through them
