It's probably not a pitch where it matters too much, but I'd rather be bowling first

Shit bowling lineup and Smith,Bailey,Maxwell and Wade outta form, these guys needed to bat first and try put pressure on the Kiwi's into some mistakes when chasing imo.

On an absolute road like this, even having a reasonably poor attack it doesn't make a lot of difference, you may as well bowl. At least the batsmen know what they have to score.

Aus have been bowled out for like 150 twice in the past 3 games against NZ in NZ and the other game they were like 6/180 and heading for 200 bowled out until Hastings closed his eyes and produced a fluke innings of a lifetime.

Our bowling line up just plain sucks, we should of kept Corey Norman and Semi over there to open the bowling they couldn't have done any worse.

So why bat first? If your bowling and batting have been equally poor, then why does it matter tactically? Especially when McCullum and Williamson have been lacking runs in the series so far, bowl first and try and get into the middle order. Don't give NZ the minor luxury of knowing what a good score is. It hasn't worked out that way, but it's a reasonable tactic

EDIT great catch, that's a big wicket, maybe it will work out a bit (albeit with more runs than we'd have liked)
