But I am pointing out that the series and the NZ middle order's performances are not that surprising without its premier middle order batsman (sole NZ current ICC ODI XI batting representative) in the side.

Ronchi has been woefully out of form for a while now. So criticism of him is fair.

To the people giving it to Grunter and Corey this series, I disagree with.

NZ is a good side with those batsman. But we're missing a king pin in the batting that is regularly the glue for the middle order.

I had hoped Ronchi would be rested today, Nicholls would take the gloves, and Munro was given a shot.

But it didn't happen.

Just got home, shocked at that really - miss Taylor big time, and leaning far too heavily on Williamson and Guptill who have only half delivered this series.

I won't back off Elliott, he's always been dire imo, fine World Cup, but pretty awful aside. I'm over Ronchi, plenty about who can do more
