Geez the Indians are extremely mentally fragile though. Even more so atm that the Kiwis. Tendulkar goes and their hopes are dashed.

It wasnt just the shot though, it was his whole demeanour throughout his innings, and the clear lack of leadership Dhoni showed by either not wanting to or not being able to reign him in. Troubling times for India.
Yes it was the whole innings from tea, Zaheer played recklessly but so did Dhoni, he should have battened down the hatches and played a captains knock even a good 40-50 with small contributions from the tail would have at least made the score competitive.

I've never rated Dhoni as a test player. Wonderful in the shorter forms of the game, but I wonder if he would still be in the test team if he wasn't captain?

It isn't just that they are struggling but it is the manner of dismissal since tea. Lack of determination and not putting their body on the line. Griegy is chucking a tantrum about Zaheer but Dhoni wasn't any better!

I got laughed at a few days ago for what i said abiut zaheer and dhoni but that was dead set a complete failure to try.

I woudnt play with a bloke who steps to leg when batting if he was a numer eleven let alone a number 8.

There are some standards you have to have. India aren't meeting some basic requirements.

Interesting that the two who responded to the verbals in the press are the most culpable.

Disgraceful as well, but India have forfeited imo at least 30-40 runs here. How important could those runs be?

They would know more about their batting ability than us, they probably figured they wouldn't last long if they tried to hang around so tried the big shots and were hoping it would come off.

I agree, I think they are losing the battle mentally, especially Dhoni.

I don't think they have any clue how to counter the bowling, they gave us those wickets.
