Starc bowled quite well this evening. Both his wickets were great. It was a real brute of a delivery to Gambhir then he curved one back nicely to Tendulkar. Still erratic but certainly has plenty to work with. I think he should play at Adelaide.

India are a bigger rabble than what we are at the moment. The amount of over the hill players and dead wood is astonishing.

On the bright side, we're looking a lot better and if nothing else this current success should remind selectors what happens when you consider form in the selection meetings. Warner has taken his opportunity and has become our most intimidating opener since Hayden. The bowlers are really bowling well as a unit and I think the captaincy has really allowed Clarke to grow as a player.

I still think we can be better. Khawaja should come in for Marsh and let's give Wade a shot but otherwise I'm feeling content with our future.

If you are legit comparing Viv Richards to David Warner in anyway other than both being attacking batsmen than

 More tears.

I didn't make the comparison, but unlike you I don't have a problem with his name being mentioned alongside Viv's because of the manner in which he scored his century yesterday, and the fact that he nearly beat Viv's record.

Gonna be a rough day trying to death ride the Aussies considering their position huh? You'll find a way.

I would have thought Watson in for Marsh would be a better option

if he's fit to bowl I agree

if he cant bowl I'd stick with Oozi

Starc really has some good deliveries in him, just gotta get rid of the shit ones but some of those lat inswinging 140K balls are pretty much unplayable

They wont put in Usi for Sunshine, even if Sunshine cant bowl. Usi will get his chance down the track.
Youd think over the next 12-18 months either or both Hussey and Punter will have retired

Good day yesterday, especially in the afternoon. Starc took two key wickets (his stock continues to rise as a Test bowler) and we should wrap this up by day's end. Whilst it won't effect the result, I was a little disappointed no one in the middle order contributed and took up where Warner and Cowan left off. It was rather meek. Our two young openers put together a solid opening stand and it masks their failure. Nit picking? Yes.

I wrote earlier that this was a key Test for one of Marsh, Cowan or Marsh (more so that last two guys) with Watson's pending return likely in the next Test. Marsh's failure has ensured he will be out of the side. His series average is now a paltry 3.5 and he has not capitalised as Warner and Cowan have.

If Watson is fit and the team is confident he is near enough 100% to the point his batting wouldn't be effected - there is no reason for him to not be recalled. It's swapping a batsmen for a batsmen and he is the Vice Captain of the team. Watson is a great batsmen, the fact he is very good bowler is an added bonus.
