Also does anyone else remember how Sri Lankan curators 'prepared' wickets for Murali? By scrubbing them with wire brushes on the morning of the first day.

Stories like this really piss me off.

Some of the West Indies pitch preparations were the best. They used to pour kero on them and set them alight.

Do you really reckon a curator would risk his career by having a booze-up and a chunder just short of a good length???

Putting aside team and country affiliations, this shouldn't have happened.

Its poor judgement from the WACA staff at best.

Will add a bit more life into the wicket. They're probably just piss off because it's not a road

In the fair dinkum department, what made them think it was a good idea to sit and drink on the pitch? Just sit next to it ffs, or on one of the non-test pitches.

it was poor judgement to be caught and filmed on the Indian TV media

its customary for the ground staff to have a drink the night before each test

It's customary for me to have a wank every morning just after waking up, doesn't mean that it would be considered acceptable behaviour if I was running late and to save time had a quick tug on the tram.

I doubt anyone is upset with the staff having a couple of beers, but why do it even within 50m of the pitch be it the one being played on or an adjacent one?
