Its the sunk cost fallacy. The higher ups in australian cricket have put a lot of effort into marsh. If hes not a test player that means that all that time and effort was wasted. Worse still it means they are wrong.
In poker terms the selectors think they are pot committed, sadly for them they are holding a 2/7 off suit.

Boult in doubt, what everyone could see is now public - back troubling him

Shame he has never looked right from the start, get him home and get him right. You don't like to see anyone injured and playing and not doing themselves justice.

I tipped the kiwis to win this test (bet with a mate)

Just thought Boult is set to have a big one, Kiwis next to no chance if he is out IMO

Hopefully its not Bond Mark II

Boult is our most important cricketer, second only to Williamson
He shouldn't play on 80%, needs to think long term

Nah, he's nothing like Bond - had a few injuries, but I am not worried - except that they rushed him back for this tour, which is a biggie give how infrequently we get to play Australia, but he's clearly not been right - and doing himself a disservice

I expect another road will be prepared for SMarsh to bring up a 100.

Hope he scores 200

He has scored really good tons when back in the side. Problem is, like his shield record would suggest, he cant sustain it and become consistant enough, usually falls in a poop next few games and gets dropped

Back in the side for a test or two for Khawaja might actually be a good thing for the side.

Time will tell

Shane Bond averaged 96.33 with the ball against Australia in Australia

What a scrub

Speaking of scrubs and since you're fond of small early career samples, Lou Vincent averaged 79 with the bat in Australia :sarcasm:
