I was playing my own game yesterday and missed the Lyon non-dismissal. And I've only seen what 9 just played. But....
Most importantly, I think he was out. However, IF Nigel Llong saw the same major pieces of footage as they showed and there was the same aspect on the screen, and IF there was no Snicko mark as the commentators suggested, then under the rules he could not overrule the decision. Unfortunately the third umpire can only rule on what he sees and hears, gut feel and common sense are irrelevant. Could anything else have made the mark other the ball? It's highly unlikely. But the footage doesn't show the ball actually creating the hot spot and, without that or snicko, he has to rely on the on field umpires decision under the rules.
I've always been pretty vocal in the opinion that DRS needs to change if they continue to use it. I think it's potentially an excellent part of the game but the rules surrounding it are, IMO, complete nonsense.
Anyway on with the match. We need to restrict them to less than 200 if at all possible
