Like a part time keeper who had not kept for a while, no threat to Wade for mine, as bad as Wade is.
Very unorthodox, much like his batting. Feet very wide apart like his batting stance and not good down the leg side when Lyon was getting a lot of turn with balls going down leg side. He doesn't squat, he stands up like an indoor keeper. Copped a bit of criticism for it but I dont see an issue as you have to stand up anyway so why squat in the first place. Heals kept saying you have to stay down as long as you can but I've never agreed with that on the basis that your head is moving all the time which is something best avoided imo.

A lot of clickbait site suggesting he could keep and we can add another batsman like Smarsh for India but his keeping would not be up to standard to turning pitches in India. I dont think even our selectors would be that stupid.

Cheers. So rusty at best....probably wouldn't make him take the gloves anyway with the way he's batting but jeez it'd be nice to have someone other than fking Wade behind the pegs...lol.

They better bring Nevill back for India

Off hand, can anyone recall if we're normally in the habit of taking 2 keepers to India? I know we usually do for Ashes tours... I think Wade was keeper last Test series in India, but can't remember who might have been back up keeper at the time.

EDIT - just found the squad on Wiki, Wade was the only specialist keeper on the last tour of India. If Nevill gets named in the squad for next month's tour it will be a signal that Wade is skating on thin ice.... Though people like Warne will spin it and say Wade could probbaly bat at 6 ahead of Nevill at 7 if required, you know because Wade is such a good player and all! LOL

I'd say they'll probably just keep working on handscombe as the backup keeper.

If wade gets gut rot in Sydney he's gonna have a bad time in India.

True that. How mentally weak are NZ though. Thrash everyone on their way to the big dance and just fold up.
Id forgotten how comprehensive the win was, just annihilated them. Brilliant moment as Clarkey walks off the field and raises the bat. Typically classy Smiffy 50 as well. Fantastic.

How about Williamson's 12 from 33 balls. Must have had his mind on the tennis.

Bit of revisionist history there.

Thrashed Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and England in the group stage.
Barely beat Australia, and struggled in parts against Scotland and Bangladesh

Thrashed the West Indies in the quarters
Needed one hell of an innings and a bit of luck/poor fielding to get us home against South Africa

Australia on the other hand, aside from the blip against NZ in Auckland pretty much did thrash everyone and were deserved winners.

Or it might have been that Australia were, you know, the better team
The great baz was brilliant on the postage stamps against the minnows. Then when the big game on the big ground against the big boys came along...............

Still the nicest guy to ever live. Just ask Rosco Taylor.

Wow, did you watch the World Cup??

We didn't thrash everyone, we had very squeaky wins over the two teams probably better than us (Aust RSA) and then were well beaten in the final.

Seems to be going ok for the Heat too

And it was never about being a nice guy, it was about growing up and creating environment to make the most of our shallow talent pool. I genuinely don't believe he was behind Taylors sacking, that was down to Taylors poor leadership

Even the mentally weak NZ fans don't know how bad they muffed that WC final. Pathetic
They muffed it sure. But even at their very best it was 50:50

It was great fun but we were IMO the third best team there
