It's clear they want Green back in the team.

If smudge wants to move up then I suppose it's solves a few problems for the short term.

Trav goes to 4, Bison to 5 and Green to 6.

And it keeps spuds like Bancroft and Harris anywhere near the Baggy Green.

They keep talking about picking the 6 best batters, which to me says they want Green back in. I think he is viewed as the long term replacement for Smith at 4.

I am sure Green could do an OK job as an opener, but it's a big ask. He has been shuffled around the order the past 12 months and it can't be helping him find a rhythm.

.. he's only batted at 6 or 7

He has batted up the order in white ball cricket too (some of which is IPL). I thought he batted 8 in the Ashes, but you are right, he was 7 but crazily picked as as a specialist bowler.

4 or 5 is his spot IMO. Probs 4...I still think Trav is a tailor made 6 but he's done so well at five you wouldn't shift him.

He bats 4 for WA. I agree that I wouldn't be shifting him all over the order. Pick him in a role and stick with it. I don't like the idea of him opening, but I also don't like most of the actually openers

Hope these 2 get busy once they get their eyes back in

Marnus being 27 off 73 is getting in Geoff Boycott territory , and Smith seems to get into the 30's quick , then goes into his shell for some reason

Got to 50 in Melbourne and then basically turned into a corpse

In the immortal words of the great poet, Kurt Cobain,

" Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us
A mulatto, an albino
A mosquito, my libido, yeah
Hey
Yeah "

See now Isa and Gilly have resorted to talking about chicks undies

Davey's powers return.

Though it's more likely he will get a bowl than a bat at this stage. Must have been a while since he rolled the arm over.

Over on 7 we're treated to the wisdom of Ponting and Younis.
