That day was one of the few times channel 9 didnt go to the news.

They kept the coverage on until the last ball when Steve Waugh got his 100.

Your right though they kept saying stand by for the news once Waugh got his 100 or got out.

Its quite funny & incredible to think England actually won that test match but wtf would know all that game is remembered for was Waugh getting a 100 off the last ball of the day 2.

Yeah people seem to forget that result, I mostly remember Waugh's ton and also Gilly getting his ton which is another forgotten ton by the great man.

I think Australia were missing McGrath and Warne, both injured. England posted a big score 2nd innings score in Melbourne and Sydney, Vaughan scored a ton in both innings. We won that game in Melbourne but geez we struggled with that low total and England's fast bowlers were swinging it, I figured then they would be up for the last test.

We didn’t have McGrath or Warne in that test. Just like in 2005 the only tests England won where the games McGrath missed.

In that test Waugh past 10k runs & equalled border's 156 matches & Bradman's 29 centuries.
