Hastings is average, but at least he isn't being carved up like Starc.

Hilfenhaus plays a vital role in the side in that he can tie an end down and dry up the runs, allowing the bowler at the other end to try and get the wicket.

This bowling attack doesn't have a bowler who can bowl tight for more than 1 over. If Hastings can manage to at least keep the runs down, he will serve some purpose.

This is why you have either one of Johnson, Starc or Hastings, not all three ffs!
