As an all rounder playing 7 with Carey at 6? Still not great but fine. We keep Boland/Starc and have him as an extra option.

It was clearly a mistake to pick him as a front line spinner.

It's a doubly bad selection because now it eliminates him being selected to go to India.
When teams are picked it should be for the current test/series.
