Even in years of 5 test series I’d like to see an extra test or 2, even if it’s against Zimbabwe or Ireland in Canberra/Darwin/Townsville/Newcastle. Play some fringe players.

Per Neil Manthorp's input on the ABC Radio coverage, SA cricket and NZ cricket boards have now decreed they will only play 2 match Test series from now on. Manthorp also suspected the just finished series might be the last tour SA make to these shores which would be a shame (well, maybe not if they keep playing like they did the last 3 weeks)... And yes, it's due to T20 Leagues filling up the calendar. So apart from an England 5 match Ashes tour, it sounds like we'll not be getting any 3/5 Test match series here in the near future, just pissy 2 match series'. India probably will do 4 but not 5. Outside of that, how long U til Pakistan, Windies and Lankan boards follow the NZ and SA directive??
