The LBW rule is difficult enough without all this umps call stuff. I also think the DRS is flawed by overturning decisions based on a lack of hot spot. Some fine edges simply won't show because not enough ball has grazed the bat.

I am all for India's position tbh. Let the umpire make the call and deal with it.
I always liked Shane Warne's perspective on the subject. Sometime you get bad calls, but they even each other out. It is never meant to be a player's place to question the call of an umpire. Allowing player reviews shows a bad example to kids watching the game, etc etc. There is no issues with umpires reviewing, that's them trying to do the best job they can with all the tools available to them. But players aren't supposed to be allowed to ask for umpire's calls to be reviewed, they are supposed to accept whatever calls are made and get on with it

Doesn't seem to be too worried about Australian pitches too. Scored over 400 runs @ 50 in the ODI's last summer. Has two test match 50's in South Africa too.
he hasn't scored a test century yet though, but that's due to lack of opportunities, you can see that he is more than capable and his first class average is impeccable

Well the Sri Lankans selectors are just as crap as ours.

How this Chandimal was not playing every games is a joke. Even if you played him as a batsmen, as you prefered the keeper. They are seem to have made a poor choice with Mathews.

Why do administrators have to be such dunces?

The Lankans are setting a tricky little target..

I remember this test well..

This Lankan attack is nowhere near as good as that Seth Efrikan one though..
:ls:Fanie
I should get Fanie on the back of my Protea jerseys, because that seems to be a way to make them significantly more offensive to the people around here. can't get de Villiers, too ambiguous, who could think a bad thought about AB, he is lovely

Maybe we aren't trying to get this last wicket so our openers don't have a tricky little period before stumps :sarcasm:

isn't it interesting that the chase is 140 which is almost exactly the same figure as the Australian lead between innings

Where's goldenrod when you need the tactics explained?

All out!

I now know where he is - got a voodoo doll for each of the openers, plus an enormous jar a vasoline and some rubber sheeting in his lounge room.

His lounge room would look like a scene from Dexter..

He should be ahead of Matthews.
Matthews was good first test, he's a decent bat.

Samaweera has been really poor, at 36 or so you'd imagine this could well be his last test.

They have a reasonable batting lineup going forward if Sanga hangs around a while and Karuneratne, Matthews, Chandimal, Thirimanne kick on.

Bowling looks worrying for them. They could get surpassed by the Windies if they arent careful.
