Except everyone said he was caught, probably including yourself.
Shit cameras and shit commentators.
Quality of cricket tv coverage in India picked up a lot after Sky Sports UK covered the 1993 England tour of India, which was the start of cricket turning into a big tv sport in India, and subsequently the tv rights exploded in value over time since then.
Looking at matches in India pre-1993 (most notably the 1987 World Cup) on YouTube, the coverage and commentary was terrible. Even the BBC coverage in the '60s and '70s shat all over it. It's quite laughable to think that pre-1993, the BCCI used to have to pay the tv broadcaster Doordarshan to televise matches. Given the powerhouse the BCCI has become over the past decade and a half, that would be simply unheard of today.
Regarding commentators in India, Henry Blofeld was very popular in India, commentating on several tournaments in India and Sharjah during the early-mid '90s, before the BCCI/ESPN Star Sports replaced him with the likes of Ravi Shastri, Harsha Bhogle and Sunil Gavaskar. And it's all been downhill since then
