Is Swepson back, has he missed his chance now?

Another one chewed up and spat out by the Cult of the BOAT.

Was way too late into his career for him to debit given his limitations, but the obsession with a bald medium paver robbed him of the opportunities he probably needed to develop. A leggie with no wrongun at age 23 can go away and develop one, but at age 29 it's pointless pretty much. And the Shield is so shit he barely needs one

Now Haze is gone. Potentially Warner too:

Now even more damning news has struck the Aussie camp with two more stars set to join Cummins on a plane home. Hazlewood has failed to overcome the achilles injury which has seen him sidelined since the New Year’s Test in Sydney, he’ll be ruled out entirely for the remainder of the series.

News Corp’s Peter Lalor is reporting David Warner could join the duo in flying home from India in order to recover from a fractured elbow injury he sustained during the first innings of the second Test, putting his spot in the series for the remaining two Tests well and truly up in the air.

Are they going to go

Khawaja
Head
Labushchagne
Smith
Handscombe
Green
Carey
Cummins
Starc/Hazelwood
Lyon

seems the best XI in the conditions - but won't work in England
Maybe they could make Green open the batting

Ditch Cummins for Boland.

I don't think anyone is begrudging Cummins for going home for personal reasons. But he's best off just staying there. While it's no fault of his, we need someone who will be here the next 10 days and somehow lift us off the mat.

This tour is looming as big a disaster as the 2013 debacle that basically got Mickey Arthur sacked.

This tour is just par for the course for Australia in the subcontinent. I am a little surprised the reaction is so strong on social media given this has been happening frequently for about 15-20 years. Perhaps just jaded JL fans who have been waiting a year to sink the boot in.

The worst series in recent memory is the home series loss to India's reserve team a couple of years ago.

yes, 95% of the public are just "jaded JL fans". We had the potential to make a real fist of this series and I think that is what the majority the public are upset at, at how we hammed this up so badly, and opportunities like this don't come around often.
