Khawaja, Head, Wade, Handscombe, M.Marsh & Kurtis Patterson are the official captains, but not always available. Peirson does QLD and Will Sutherland is captaining Victoria but not sure who the other fill-ins are.

The lack of an obvious captaincy 'heir' is probably more symptomatic of their not being a lot of good young batting talent around. Head & Marnus are late 20's so still have at least 5 years left if form permits, but there isn't much in the early 20s. Usually it is fairly obvious who the next captain will be (Ponting, Clarke, Smith, Waugh etc).

Which end of the bat to use? If you're going to have a test batting coach I believe the first qualification is that you've played test cricket.
