Boult and others were told he’d never play again, very quickly that changed for Williamson (of course) and Conway (lol), Boult should have been selected when available we simply don’t have that depth

I’ve got no problem with a respectful send off, but was annoyed by the mindless sycophancy from Stevenson. Southee has had a great career, but Boult and probably Wagner were consistently better, and Henry is showing that perhaps he deserved a more consistent chance earlier

Henry, O’Rourke , Jamieson (fingers crossed) and Sears is a decent attack, and hopefully Conway can find form, he has to justify being selected over Young with runs

After moving to Aus just over 5 years ago, and seeing a bit of changing on the guard.. I must say, alot of these new(er) faces are impressive.

O'Rourke, Young, Ravindra etc

Honestly don't feel Southee is going to be a big loss, he went for too long. Not taking away from an legendary career or his achievements

Yeah Southee was a great servant but as often happens went on a bit too long. The amazing thing about that situation is that barely 3 months ago he was captain! Imagine if he hadn't stepped down....boggles the mind really.

Was watching a replay yesterday and he was driving me nuts. Complaining how it was odd there was no sign of Southee batting, even though Blundell and Santner were still there and both were on 30+.

Well one of them has to get out first mate....
