We are a different bowling unit than two years ago. Johnson was all over the shop, Harris injured, Hilfy (other than indian series) was a pie chucker.

Like Twizzle said, we are bowling too well for them to block all day. They are 4 down for a reason. Plus we got Warner to chirp at them, seems to work wonders :)

Day 5, ball should be doing something of the deck, plus we should be able to get the reverse swing going as ball is over 40 overs old now , they are good as gone

2-1 win sometime after tea. Shame its not a 5 test series would be 4-1 to Australia

If we can't take 6 wickets, with only 3 of them batsmen, in 90 overs on a day 5 pitch we don't deserve to win.

We want them blocking. It makes it easier for us to bear down on them and set ultra aggressive fields, all it takes is one error.

We probably have well over 100 overs at them

We start early don't we? Plus customary minimum 15 overs in the last hour of a test (or is it 20 overs?)

Exactly - a trainspotter might advise on how often teams have saved tests from this position. but it's very very unlikely... If they still had Amla, perhaps an outside chance

seems to be their modus operandi... amazing how good de Villiers is at it, given in reality he's such a flowing relatively free scoring player...

but a day with 4 recognised batsmen gone, will take a special effort

I give them about 5% chance.

We should still win from here. Got to be patient though, wouldn't surprise me if we only got Abbott early and had to wait a while for the next wicket.

5% is about right I think... they don't seem to have much fight in them, a quick killing is also possible

They're not England. They did win a test against us a week ago.

For sure, but they are 4 down, Duminy is pretty much rubbish - so it's all on AB, Faf and Philander

Plus, seldom done, not sure why you wouldn't be pretty bullish - they have to do something remarkable, you just need to bowl reasonably and take catches...

Good to wake up and see that we picked up Amla last night. Hopefully we can pick 1 or two of them up early today.

I bet not a lot of shots will be played today. Like someone else said, it's not a surprise that no one goes to Test Cricket in South Africa as it can be a snooze fest

Sure do

Duminy is in form.

And they saved a test in similar conditions against us in Adelaide and also just recently against India when it looked like India had them on the ropes.

Yes I acknowledge there's obviously a big difference between those bowling attacks and the one they face today. But still, if anybody is going to do it it'll be AB, Faf and friends.
