What is the capacity of Elland Rd? Will they fill it next week??

the top tier of the big stand will be shut apparently, nowt to do with us or the RFL,its leeds united who can't be arsed getting a safety certificate for the top tier...

so capacity will be around 31-32k

Or it could be to do with the fact they've been doing work on the east stand for the last 4 or 5 months and it's unsafe up there? The work is far from finished at the mo.

:D

Nah, there's been work on the inside and outside going on for ages. I dont even think they opened it for the Man U game a couple of months back. There's just a shell of a new structure on the outside atm. Im sure if it had been ok and the demand had been there then it would have been opened.

And I think the caps just over 33k with the top tier closed too.

Kiwis are missing soooo many players they were never going to be a force this year. Forced to play 2 back rowers as centres shows how badly they were struggling. Wait till these jnr kiwis come through...NZ by 50 every game;)

England played well, i'll be cheering for them next week...i wish Slammin Sam Burgess was playing, he can play a bit that bloke,

Oh yeh, where is Kyle Eastmond....too small for international footy?

Eastmond = too union for international league.

The Kiwis have injury issues but they've made do with Mannering and others in the centres before and still won big games, I don't think there are many excuses there. Their stunk all tournament, albeit against teams that played pretty well. Even with their injuries with Marshall, Foran, Locke and Luke and a great pack they had a team capable of some good footy, but they barely strung a play together all tournament, just some solid metres and the odd hail mary kick or run on the last to sneak a few tries.

England are missing Ellis, O'Loghlin, Burgess from the pack, Danny Brough at 7 (originally thought to have been left out but turns out he's injured) and we had probably planned to include Joel Tomkins and Ryan Atkins in the backs until both pulled out.

Very good performance last night but we certainly didn't play our best rugby due to the sudden death nature of the game, I expect us to open up a bit more against Australia.

Different kind of game completely, having reached the final it's now sh!t or bust.
Falling at the semi final stage by playing too loosely against the Kiwis would have been seen as abject failure we simply had to play tight and controlled to ensure we got to the final.

We still need to be tight and controlled next week but there'll also be more adventure in our game as we look to break the 40 year drought.

Anyone who can't see the subtle difference between the two games doesn't understand sport.

you lose in either week and it will be seen as a failure as far as I'm concerned. I know you poms are just happy to even make the final but in most peoples eyes, losing next week will still be a failure. The Oz team is not exactly the strongest side (though neither is the English) that could be fielded, this is your best chance to break the drought but I reckon you guys will get done. Shame though, would be good for the game if the Poms win.

Arrrgh that sucks, he was a gun...from the few games i saw. Hopefully Tompkins doesnt go, he is also a gun...from the few games i've seen.

Why are some many Leaugue players switching to union in the UK? Does rugby have more money?

Yeah Union has tonnes more money but on the upside Sam Tomkins has just signed a five year contract so that should keep him here and then hopefully if he does want to try something new after that he goes to the NRL instead of Union.

Don't want to misjudge you on this but you're either intentionally ignoring the difference between the games or you really dont understand and no amount of debate will ever educate you enough to help you.

Don't you just know that there are some Aussie poster who will belittle England's performance or highlight the Australian / New Zealand teams' missing players no matter how well we play. We can only play what's in front of us and we can only play the players available to us. We've reached the final. At this moment in time we can't do any more. We may get blown away next week and we may not but please stop the disparaging remarks before the game's even been played.
