4 Players to be shown the door...

A thread doing the rounds on social media saying three or four key tigers may be given releases? Anybody heard anything?

This dissention and possibly disintegration, IMO, goes back to the signing of Blair (this is not having a go at Blair, more those responsible for the signing) . The tiges let go two pretty good forwards to get him, in Gibbs and Fifita, some will say so what. I don't know much about Fifita but Gibbs was part of the social fabric of the club, sometimes certain players are valuable as much for what they bring to the team in terms of character, rather than just the football.

The same can be said for coaches, tactics are important, but the ability to influence people and relationships is just as important. Take Bennett and his ability to turn around wayward players.

This problem was exacerbated with the loss of Ryan and Heighington both popular with team mates, Ryan was playing well, as well as being a character and Heighno, although his best days were over, gave 100% and was a great team man. Both were probably very important in team politics. Both appeared to be level headed and I suspect able to quell or at least temper clashes in personality among other players. I think Gareth Ellis may also have been a calming influence.

It seems to me that people at the top failed to properly gauge the effect on team culture when letting some pretty loyal characters leave the club. The fact that the club let these guys go in less then agreeable terms also points to the club preaching, but not practicing loyalty. Who wants to bust their arse every weekend when chances are you can't rely on at least some loyalty from your club.

The seeds you sow, so you shall reap.

The vocal majority wanted a new coach. They now have that and have to deal with how he chooses to react to situations not of his creation.

To be honest, I don't see any major players who are actually PERFORMING
being in that bunch. It is probably the underperforming ego base that Potter won't tolerate.

A lot of us were outraged about the Gibbs/Fafita situation at the time.

This is like watching the proverbial slow motion train wreck.

Mate, well said - spot on.

To be honest as long as it isn't Farah or Woods I wouldn't mind if this happened going on performances this year

why would any club that is struggling and in the middle of a injury crisis let any player go.Can not see any way it could be true

I assume it will be at the end of this season, not now. And I assume these players are contracted and not in the final year of their contract like Lote, Utai etc.

My four would be:

Blair
Moltzen
Lawrence
BMM

Blair although I think he will stay because he has signed a contract.
Anasta is in the same boat as Blair.
Moltzen because he has been given more than enough chances.

Truthfully I don't see who we can let go. I'd be more inclined to pick players based on form and not resign any players who aren't contributing to the team at a fair value.

It's an Internet rumour fellas.

There is another one saying that there will be a demerger and the Wests Magpies are taking the license and moving to Perth.

Lote ffs. Go away and retire. Our cap and overall situation would be helped by you retiring to your Louisa Rd dwelling and become the Fijian manager. Khoder of Fiji.

Blair shoud be first gone, however he is under contract,so he may be safe due to default,Masada,BMM,Utai should be expecting a tap on the shoulder to move along. What is disturbing a number of players that need moving along are still under contract.
